Treat drivers like children and they will respond according. Filling the car with 'safety' gadgets has a similar effect. Simply a downwards spiral.
If you give a child a bow and arrow for example with strict instructions on safety and what to shoot at and what not to shoot at and they immediately ignore those instruction and start shooting at anything, you take away the bow and arrow.
You give an 'adult' a car and a copy of the highway code which explains very clearly not to go faster than the posted speed limit and they immediately ignore those instructions, you take away, not the car, but the ability to ignore those instructions.
You have bought this upon yourselves.
it appears that your attitude would have fitted in really well in East Germany in a certain capacity...

One of the worst parts of being a sanctimonious dick police officer as you say, was waking parents up in the early hours to tell them that their son or daughter was in the morgue after being killed by a tt who was speeding. Or going to a traffic accident where a speeding car had plowed into a stationary minivan killing all the occupants including a 2 week old baby. Not so much just killing, but it was more like shredding.
So maybe you need to see the other side of the coin and the carnage caused by people who ignore speed limits, such as yourself apparently.
If you stuck to the speed limits there would be no need to have your toys taken away would there?
The same is true for the noise cameras you're getting. These are only for a small section of the community who want to fk it up for everyone by removing their silencers, many of them apparently, members of PH.
You only have yourselves to blame.
Of course I have great respect to you for coping with those aspects of the job, however I can't help wondering whether those accidents were caused by normally responsible Motorists driving slightly over the speed limit or whether they were caused by the sort of Motorists who have no respect for the speed limit nor for safe driving.
of course you have to figure in that in a lot of the US texting whilst driving is still legal - as it's legal it's still safer than speeding....

Do you think lying about not making a post I quoted will make you look less ridiculous? Anyone can scroll back and see what you posted, and that you’re now lying.

Why not admit you don’t know what you’re talking about.
hmmmm plod admit he's in the wrong? rofl

My original observation
"I did research and found that about 50% of drivers ignore the speed limits no matter what they are. I'm sure if the doubled the speed limits those numbers would not change."
So it was my opinion that 50% of drivers would ignore the 20 mph limits, but I was wrong, as it seems that 86% of drivers do, and 51% exceed the 30 mph speed limits.

I know some PH members got so excited that I may have made an honest mistake that they needed to change their underwear, and I'm sure they'll chime in soon.
You’re nothing more than a liar and an idiot with zero credibility.

What do they say about arguing with an idiot?
It's true, because I've tried arguing with you.
Now can we get on and discuss the speed limiters which you are getting, and with any luck we will be getting here in the US?
PS, in future I'll try to not use any big words, just for you.
reminds me about the story/joke about the wrong number and 2 assholes....

Fighting the 20mph limits is pointless unless you can give a valid reason for driving any faster in a built up area.
This will be immediately countered by numerous studies on the correlation between speed and injuries, and of course the latest newspaper shock horror headline where yet another child gets killed by a speeding motorist.
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/boy-8...
in a tragic situation where the speed limit made not one jot of difference. The speed limit could have been 40 and the tt would still have been speeding

The French 130km/h with 110km/h when raining seems reasonable.
sadly I honestly think that a significant proportion of drivers (the majority?) are so stupid that the lower limit would be ignored because the overhead gantries haven't told them it's raining. In all honesty I'm surprised that they remember to turn on their wipers in the first place!

Blatant anti-car measure as declared in the TfL document you referenced:

...encouraging more people out of their cars.

The project is part of the TfL's commitment to lower the speed limit by 10mph on a further 140km of the TfL road network by 2024
not sure how that would work - average speed would then be about 10/11mph yikes
