Yeah it was refreshingly diverse for out here. The organizers (flat 12) have done a few events now including a classic track day. It’s run by three brothers, one of whom owns the red ‘grale and is MD for the race track. They seem to draw in a much more knowledgeable and enthusiast crowd (built not bought) than the usual supercar show offs or doof doof doof mob.

If you look in the background you can see the tops of 2 Japanese ceremonial hearses! These were on merc w140 s500 platforms. Hideous but I thought they’d make a cool lwb Ute for hauling a track bike!

Such a great eclectic mix of cars! And sunshine too, I'm missing that at the moment laugh

Took the 996 out yesterday, not a fun drive. So much standing water everywhere, I felt like I was bambi on ice! First time out on the Michelin PS2 tyres, hopefully they just need a few more miles on them to scrub them in properly

Agreed... great collection!

I’ve done around 600 miles in my 996 over the last 7 days. A lot of it motorway stuff, some of it in pretty horrendous weather... seeing the PSM light flashing away merrily at 85+ on the A12, in the pitch black last Saturday morning was a bit ‘invigorating’.

One thing has become clear... the semi solid engine mounts I had fitted earlier this year are going to need to come off. Despite being great for handling, they add far too much harshness when using the car for anything more than short weekend blasts. It’s much nicer overall on stock mounts.

Otherwise, it’s been brilliant. All the luggage and presents for the big family trip up north went in, and it did high 20’s mpg at 85 on the run.

I'm not 100% sure if it was real, to my (untrained) eye it looked and sounded legit. There was a lovely 993 in the car park as well which didn't help my want for one. Move house or 993, it's a tough choice!

And on that sort of price...not exotic at all but just came across this-

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Nothing especially exciting (regular 3 series for those you can't be arsed to click) and high miles but haggle that down closer to 2k and that looks like a cracking daily given it's clearly been looked after.

That's a bargain if it checks out, even at the asking.
