I'm sure there's a scene in a James Bond film where he's in the back of one, and they put up the roof while driving. can't find any reference to it anywhere though... I also think it may be in Hong Kong, so may be a peninsular hotel car...

I mean the guy is a hero - no reasonable person can possibly dispute that - but I did wander about the red pants. If he was fishing around in the wheel arch / boot (not sure what other car area is comparable?) of a clio (not a v6) then everyone would only see his pants.

How do you know what colour his pants are?

Red trousers, on the other hand, are part of the camouflage outfit for Ferrari drivers.

Ello chaps. Went for a drive in an F12 yesterday and concluded I have become a complete wuss. So fast, so violent that I never even got to see the change up lights because I wasn’t brace enough to keep my foot in! Every time I got to 5k I backed off because it scared me senseless! If you changed your style to put it in as high a gear as possible and drove on the torque then it became just an immensely capable vehicle. Everything was smooth and just spot on. First time I’ve driven car and had to recalibrate what I know. Astonishing vehicle.

Conversely, I tried a GR Yaris on Friday and I struggle to think of anything that could stay with it in everyday hooning. Laugh-out-loud usable poke from the merest prod of a foot. It took me back to the days in my 205 1.9. I'm not exaggerating when I say my E63 felt like a 747 on the way home. hehe

Ha - and by a strange coincidence my new GR Yaris arrived yesterday. It’s amazing. Everything I was hoping. I’m running it in quite carefully so not (much!) been over 4K revs and it’s already feeling powerful. I’ve only done 100 miles but already feeling the love.

Lucky bugger. I was at Toyota last Monday also driving a Yaris - alas old person spec and a full fat HiLux. Loved the HiLux! The parental units decreed the Yaris very good. The salesman laughed when I asked if I could have a go in their GR. It was booked solid for the next month and any orders taken now were deliveries for next yr.

But but but...I *am* unlucky...they sold the 599 I wanted, so was forced into trying the F12...!

Did I get the right amount of pout in there?
