I do like that era S6, I had an S2 Avant many moons ago. Not quick, but covered the ground in less time than you thought.

They're quite string money as well these days, wish I'd hung to to that car. That and my 164 Cloverleaf

I'm using my S3 almost daily at the moment, and thinking an S6 would be a better option were it not for the consumption. In fact, in typing that I'm wondering why I've not pressed the Safrane into service - all the waft, but the 2.0 donkey sips Tax Juice like a camel drinks water scratchchin

I'm using my GR Yaris as an everyday car and loving the fact I can drive it flat out most of the time and still average 26mpg!

My thread DB7 - with its 6.0 V12 - is sadly sitting at a dealer awaiting parts (on back-order from AM) before it can start burning fuel in anger again.

It is indeed the 80/90’s fodder that tugs at my heart strings too.
Indeed. Looking at the prices of everything these days, the sweet spot for a classic brings me firmly back into thread territory every time.

If driven as Tommi intended, we're talking teens. Average 26 would include plenty of cruising leaving the turbo as dormant as possible.

Good effort!!

I did a track day at Castle Combe and averaged about 11am oh from memory. Achieving 16 on the road would be going some!

Isolated, tbh. Modern road conditions do not lend themselves to exploiting these things.

ETA. Pretty disappointed with the cruising mpg actually. Wouldn't have minded if they'd made 6th much longer.

PV444 was the bodied car.
PV445 was the frame & front body only.

PV445 became everything from tow trucks, to vans, to woody wagons.
Eventually Volvo made a in-house PV445 4 door estate body called the PV445 Duett.
