I am off to view/buy the manual 550i Touring on Saturday morning
Welcome to my club. Although mine is auto. Is yours Silver?I ask because someone in our v8 Touring thread - linked - bought a manual several months ago. He then set about changing or fixing or sorting several things. Then after a couple of months went quiet. So I suspect he lost interest. But that's just me guessing.
These are very rare cars but even more rare in manual. I have only ever seen 1 in the wild. I have seen 3 or 4 545i Touring in my lifetime. The first was Tiff Needell's - at Silverstone I think.

.. Whereas my umodified daily E46 M3 actually sits the family/MTBs/Tip runs and it would still do a 8min lap of the Ring on its anual trip...
I'm not a fan of convertibles so M3 'verts don't make sense to me. Maybe I should try a coupe one day soon however. This one looks very tempting - a nice yellow, has had the right stuff done so high miles not a turn-off and a good price.

Until you see that the actual colour is:
Ahm oot!!

The dyno graph is quite stretched in appearance compared to most so the shape looks pretty reasonable, but I think it's showing that the engine goes from roughly 200hp to 400hp between 3500 and 4500rpm! Likely to be tricky in the corners in that rev range

The trouble with the e46 is they're no longer a real bargain to the likes of myself and, from experience, they have the potential to rust like an absolute bd.This one looks very tempting - a nice yellow, has had the right stuff done so high miles not a turn-off and a good price.

In my head they're still an £8-10k car.
Would love a shot of one though.

I guess my point re the 6 series I mentioned was its a 24k mile car. Looking on AT, it isn't even as dear as I assumed. 50k mile cars around the same age are listed at similar money in some cases. I like the fact its essentially an old school, old fashioned cruiser woth years left. Bought as a 'buy, use, forget about future value ', it might be the nearest thing to a 'new' 2006 6 series drop top you can find, if that's your thing....and it would be mine!!
I hear you and I kind of agree with you... BUT having toyed with the idea of running a 6-series/M6 as a stter/daily I was always put off by the total impracticality of it. It's fecking huge, and yet you cannot seat a family in it. Whereas my umodified daily E46 M3 actually sits the family/MTBs/Tip runs and it would still do a 8min lap of the Ring on its anual trip... What I am getting at, is that although the E63 is a great car, it's a very, very acquired taste, hence the cheap pricing... Edit...just checked WBAC offer 4200 for the car, garage want 12500!!

Phoenix is a funny colour to capture on a camera, he’s got the two extremes in his advert and neither really show it to its true hue imhoThis is a better example

Silver grey, 2005 car, black leather. Seller seems like a decent bloke from interactions so farI ask because someone in our v8 Touring thread - linked - bought a manual several months ago. I'm unlikely to have the funds but if I did it woukd be for my Mrs and likely continue racking up 30 miles a week!!! I'm gonna take a look, who knows, a deal might be done...a car like this fare badly at auction or with wbac which night be their options if there are no other like minded lunatics.
Edit...just checked WBAC offer 4200 for the car, garage want 12500!!
BCA (owners of WBAC) - according to my dealer mate - have turned into even more of s of late... I have also noticed a massive decrease in CAP clean values for anything interesting and off-piste... and last but not least - interesting stuff is struggling on the BCA platform. It really is, so that's forming a negative feedback loop.Edit...just checked WBAC offer 4200 for the car, garage want 12500!!

Fpr anything that's not run of the mill they're useless to use as a benchmark IMO, you're better off looking at similar vehicles for sale and see what the asking price is for those

WBAC a) don't want it as it's an unusual car and therefore carries more risk and b) they need to buy behind what they think they'll get at auction and include transport fees and costs so are usually behind what a vehicle is actually worth.

It has definitely been good to learn this (from PH) in recent years.Fpr anything that's not run of the mill they're useless to use as a benchmark IMO, you're better off looking at similar vehicles for sale and see what the asking price is for those
10 years ago I had a 190E for a while - worth about a grand (bought and sold at that amount) but WBAC offered £50! Now I know why and it's not because it was the real worth of the vehicle.
