Got a feeling this BMW will go for well north of the CAP clean price... Those who know, know... I would have that in a heart beat - why would you need a newer car than this?! Knowing that somebody actually sold this car to WBAC hurts me even more...
Yes amazed it went into WBAC, I'm sure he got sub £20k for it.As you say I'd not be surprised to see it smash CAP clean, if I was after a car like that for myself personally I'd probably not stop bidding south of £30k.
£30k which wouldn't even get you in a 1 series worth knowing about.
If there is any interest I'll report back with the hammer price after it goes through tomorrow.
Great posting chaps
My first trip to Bicester scramble yesterday, really enjoyed it so much variety.
One for you Loon, I had never seen these before, Fiat Balilla cute little and thing I want one
For classic Fast Ford lovers found this X pack Mk.2 Capri in the car park on perfect RS alloys
Don't see many Sport 300 Esprit's
This E30 M3 was immaculate

They are very cute little things aren’t they. The Balilla iirc was a run of the mill saloon type Fiat but many were re-bodied as per the one above. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that one in the metal a couple of times, very well proportioned iirc.
This is a normal version:
This is one that caught my eye at auction fairly recently:
And my personal favourite is this fastback styled one:

X5 4.8is - 77k miles, crazy spec. What a great car this is - bonkers engine and exhaust note, goes like stink, unicorn spec (electric heated rear seats, pano roof, carplay, slide out boot, sun blinds, factory tow bar), everything works, no smoke, £6,800
E61 550i Sport manual - 142k miles, totally original, quieter, more refined, chassis and steering a real step up and the box makes the car. You will see 30 mpg on a run if you stick to the speed limits but why would you £8,100
What I wasn't expecting was that my wife and kids absolutely love the X5, so the 550i will probably go. But as I now have plenty of storage, no hurry on that
Excellent purchases - I am genuinely envious. I have always lusted after a V8 E53 and that spec is truly astounding. The only thing my Indy advised was that suspension links and ball joints are pretty much 2 or 3 year consumable service items.X5 4.8is - 77k miles, crazy spec. I'd struggle to pick between them for something to borrow for a week, but I think I'd go for the 550i simply because there are so few ways to enjoy a decent modern V8 with a manual gearbox.

Love the scramble, wanted to go to at the weekend but it clashed with a trip to Liverpool to watch Everton play. the next scramble seems to be October? There's a PH meet in August which might be worth going to. It looks like there are 'Pegasus member' events now for a joining fee. Not sure if I like the idea of that or not

Yes, I also remember seeing him get virtually take off over a bump and get very close to you! Scramble is on my ‘to do’ list. I’ve been to Bicester a couple of times for work related things and it is a very imoressive place, put me in mind of Brooklands with its ambience and overall feel.
Hopefully will get the ‘sud out again soon, not been out since October last year which funnily enough was at Bicester for the National Alfa Day

I’m so envious if the V8 BMW purchases… they would be €16-20k here.

I love a fully kitted out car, Jaguar were good in 2008 - 2012 with the X351 XJ and 1st gen XF because the Portfolio came with basically everything, but from 2012 onwards they started taking stuff out and by the time the 2nd gen XF came out they were as bad as the Germans and a lot of cars were really crap spec.
It's very tedious trying to find a BMW or Mercedes that's not in crap base spec, or you see £5k of options and get interested and find out it's £3k on some stupid wheels and £2k on a "special" shade of grey but it's still got vinyl manually adjusted seats.
Until I recently voluntarily terminated the PCP due to a company Tesla (cheap business mileage being the chief motivator) I had a 69 plate Jag XF Sportbrake 240d Chequered Flag Edition which in addition to standard had: heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, memory drivers seat, retractable tow bar, suede cloth headlining, a digital dash and 17 speaker 825w Meridian Sound System. It was year old when I took delivery of it and was advertised at Barretts of Canterbury as an ex Jag Management car and had 5500 miles on the clock. The sales guy told me that it would have been around £60k list new, the standard car listed at around £45K. It was for sale for £33k. It was a great place place to pass 75K and I loved it even more than the 335d that preceded it and 3 months later I still miss it terribly! That illustrates my point I think - a 2009 Portfolio would have come with the B&W stereo, suedecloth headlining, powered steering column, heated and cooled front seats, power front seats and memory on at least the drivers all as standard. By 2019 it was all optional even on top trim levels.GeniusOfLove said:
Speaking of going mad with the options list, I spotted a 2018 BMW 540i tourer, one owner from new and 42k miles at BCA.
Original RRP apparently £48,690 and it has £22,405 of options. CAP clean is £21,550, it's quite an appealing though to buy it for less than someone paid for the options 6 years ago.
Interior is dogmess brown too
A lot of the time German cars will have £3k of options for stuff that really should have been standard.
Very nice car, £25k CAP retail but with those options I'd not be surprised to see it up for (and fetch) £35k once it gets retailed.
