The story says that 14 of the 20 to be made have been sold already.
'Already spoken for' is the wording used.Anybody used to the British specialist car industry will know that what that actually means is that 'we've had a number of vague expressions of interest, some of which were 11 year-old boys with no bank account, and which could total 14 if you counted an unspecified number of them twice'.
I love the look of this actually, something very different. But it does look like a race car that's been made road legal so I would question its comfort and build quality. Looking at the boot size its like they are trying to make a GT car, but who wants a GT car thats a racing car?? Surely the point is luxurious mile munching in a GT. No one is arguing that they have a great race history but I am concerned its too much of a race car for the road.
Personally I am not in the position to spend 340K on a car. If I was it would be 2 - an M5 and something from the Ferrari/Lambo/Mac stable.

Hmmmm....
About that “Who would buy....” thing...
Ginetta have sold a lot of racing cars to a lot of wealthy owner/drivers, many of them will be repeat customers who’ve come back again and again as they’ve moved up the established Ginetta ladder and they’ll have long term relationships from support packages, off-season rebuilds, etc, etc.
The idea that a dozen or so people who’ve got an established, enthusiastic, solid relationship with the marque would sign up for a batst insane monster like this to sit alongside the G55 they’ve already sunk the price of a very nice house into over a few years of Supercup racing, the G55 GT3 they’ve got on order for a crack at British GT, and the season in a G40 Junior they’ve bought for their child/grandchild/nephew/whatever really doesn’t seem like a stretch to me.
That’s the thing which separates Ginetta from most of the start-ups with the shiny brochures, whizzy computer renderings, and spreadsheets. An actual established customer base with solid continuing relationships and a history of going to a small specialist manufacturer in Yorkshire to spend large amounts of money on automotive toys...
