it'd still be £100k and devalue the brand massively
if they some how made a £50k car then it'd kill the brand
I can’t see how it would kill the brand at all.if they some how made a £50k car then it'd kill the brand
Plenty of brands (car and other) cover massive price point ranges and as far as I can see they aren’t dead.
Porsche get close with the Boxster/Cayman, but actually, Porsche used to be a competitor of Ferrari, but not for decades. They almost prove the point.

If FIAT don’t introduce some Alfa models in the 80-200k range to sit under the Ferrari range, given the Alfa heritage and stunning designs from pre 1970 Alfa, they’re bonkers. The market is begging out for it and their designers only need to wander round the Alfa museum for a day for inspiration.

Am I the only one who thinks these cars are just getting way too powerful? 720bhp in what is traditionally the baby Ferrari, 800 in the big GT. I can't help but feel they need a smaller mid mounted V6 car in the 400-500bhp range with a focus on much lighter curbweights.
I love the Alpine concept of light weight fun over power but I'd prefer something with the atmosphere (if that's the right term) of a Ferrari.
I prefer the 570s over the 720 for example but McLaren are just lacking a bit of soul that Ferrari's have always managed to pull off somehow.
Hopefully, that is where the Dino comes in.I love the Alpine concept of light weight fun over power but I'd prefer something with the atmosphere (if that's the right term) of a Ferrari.

....but 720hp is no longer too powerful. Small saloons have 500bhp, large saloons have 600bhp.

2018 was the first year I haven’t bought a car in as long as I can remember.
I’ve been waiting. Waiting for the new Ferrari V8. I’ve been told it’s going to be a game changer, it’ll have a hybrid Powertrain, all new design, ya da ya da. Dealers talk absolute ste. Sat on the cash for months now not buying anything waiting for something interesting and what do we get? A 488 facelift and still turbocharged. Slightly different bodywork, tarted up interior and more power, that we don’t need.
Ffs. If Ferrari can’t be arsed, neither can I. I’m actually annoyed. They’re gonna love me when I get on the stand at Geneva. ;-)
I'm sure they'll not give a Toss if you buy one or not. There'll be a large que of people to take your place for one. I’ve been waiting. Waiting for the new Ferrari V8. I'd also like to see you on the stand at Geneva. Giving some salesman / woman stick. Wonder how they'll remove you from the stand? Arm lock or Head lock?
As a multiple Ferrari owning, Italian speaking car collector I suspect they’ll be more than happy to discuss my views and their thought process behind the new car along with plans for the future. Their guys at the Ferrari events I get invited to usually are.

V6T into an improved (lengthened?) 4C chassis, call it a Dino or 6C if an Alfa.... 400-500bhp...._Leg_ said:
I think it highly unlikely they would forcibly remove anyone from their stand for expressing their views. I think you’ve been watching too much Sopranos.

PH does make me chuckle sometimes. Definitely worth you stating your POV - might help sort the dealers out with their 'facts'As a multiple Ferrari owning, Italian speaking car collector I suspect they’ll be more than happy to discuss my views and their thought process behind the new car along with plans for the future. beautiful rear design.I'd want one even though then it must be frustrating to drive on the road.
Why frustrating to drive on the road..??The fluidity and 'alive-ness' of these cars is accessible at all speeds. Unless you 'live your life a quarter mile at a time', they are fantastic machines and sit no more frustrating than the S2 Exige I ran for 2yrs & 32,000 miles.

the allure of ferrari is the perception of wealth, they are status symbols (as well as being amazing cars) and for most just seeing one on the street is a special thing (i.e outside of London)Plenty of brands (car and other) cover massive price point ranges and as far as I can see they aren’t dead.
@ £50k they would sell in absolutely unprecedented numbers (if it was possible to meet the demand) and would be much more common place and lose a certain mystique. owners of high tier models would be angry and Lambo etc would pick up more sales

Precisely. Dino was my first thought and almost posted as such. There's definitely a huge gap where they once occupied at 80-120k, (355/360/430) now base models are 175k+ minimum and 600bhp+ it makes sense to me that they have something there, others certainly do.A 4/6C with 450bhp, mid engined, light, V6T and no frills would be awesome. If they can consider a 4x4, they can consider this, I'd be surprised if they aren't to be honest.

Looks awesome to me, was never that sold on the 458, 488 a bit better but this hits the spot.
But the name, anyone else thinking Tenacious D ?
This is not the greatest car in the world, no, this is just a Tributo.
Hee hee. Was thinking the same. There shined a shiny demon in the middle of the road. But the name, anyone else thinking Tenacious D ?

£100k in 1995 is c£180k now - not as far off as you'd think.A 4/6C with 450bhp, mid engined, light, V6T and no frills would be awesome. If they can consider a 4x4, they can consider this, I'd be surprised if they aren't to be honest.
And which Ferrari competitors have a 450bhp c£80-120k option?
