We / well Wofe has the Mk1 Cupra Leon 180bhp.

Costs etc all in my profile - we bought it cheap many years ago.

I loved it great car - but tyres make a difference P6000 are shocking for grip it spins up far too easy with them

We suffered the dreaded water in the cabin which was never solved sadly (probably needed new seals or a blocked widget somewhere).

To think back into 2001 these were vet nippy cars yet now they don’t but are still great cars.

Oh dear light clusters... bulbs kept failing so we bought brand new internals and that fixed it - pricy

Plus when they first came out in early 2000 I think they were the most powerful hot hatch you could buy except for the Audi S3 which was £10,000 more.
.
Golf V6 also had a bit more poke in 2000 but was more pricey
It did, 204ps but don't think it came out until 2001 on an X plate so the Leon had a brief spell at the top! How quickly times change, 180bhp used to be top end power and within 15 years it's 380bhp!
Definitely get the Golf V6 4-motion on a W-reg ( early 2000 )
They were on the VW price lists at 21990 for a 3-door and 22610 for a 5-door at the end of Feb
There's a fair few on X 2000 plates in EBay, Gumtree etc but although I've seen a W-plate I can't find one for sale just now

We’re they ever that good? Cheap now yes but the R32 that followed different league and the VR6 before IMho vastly better

Great choice of shed, if I didn't already have a cheap second car I'd seriously consider this for a bit of summer fun on track days, would be a great base car for it.

I did have an FR for work going back a good few years and I loved the driving experience but it wasn't so much fun for passengers who complained it was uncomfortable but who cares about that anyway

I used to really really like these. But I could never understand why the interior felt a bit poo when it was so similar to the A3.

Used to drive a 210 one a fair bit at a company I worked for (company cars were available for anyone to use for business) and had a lot of fun tazzinh around in it. It was absolutely battered though.
