Big fan of this, by the figures for torque given it’ll need its neck wringing to get the performance out of it which will make it great around a track, not so much as a daily drive.

Outstanding work by Aston Martin & Adrian Newey.

Suspect this will remain the absolute peak of non turbo'd Hyper cars forever.

er, it's really a P2, as it has it's hybridisation from the same company that developed the P1's hybrid systems.......
Until a McLaren has a V12 in it, I'm uninterested. The new Mclaren's just don't do anything for me at all. Don't doubt they're amazing blah blah blah but I just cant find them interesting in any way shape or form.

I expect it's 'because one can', plus it becomes a halo/signature product highlighting the technical prowess of the business in the hope it helps attract buyers to buy vehicles lower down in the range, and makes them a ton of money in the process.
But in a way the sentiment is correct. Other than a circuit where can you really drive this car? So the next question is will they be raced? Car park ramps and speed bumps will certainly be problematic, so it's hardly a road car. It's a wonderful thing, but it looks so compromised.

Congrats to Aston - an example of what's achievable with the right leadership.

I knew I shouldn't have gone ex directory - maybe then I would have received the calls from National Lottery and Aston Martin respectively announcing my win and asking me if I wanted one of these - to which my answers would have been Thanks - and Yes Please !
Don’t forget numerous ex Red Bull Racing staff that have helped design this car too. That’s a nice thing to know.

Looks like it's going to be fun getting in the thing. I really want to see it with the doors open now, they're going to look very cool.

Max, I gather you worked with Integral on a P1. Any involvement with this one as well?

I love how function over form it is.

I wonder if, on slicks, it would be able to keep up with a Porsche 919 LMP1?

I think that 665lb ft will mean its usable on most roads as a daily, I don't recon you'd struggle to get up hills.

Even if its only putting out 400 odd lower down the rev range that would still give it plenty drivability, same as an M4 with less weight, so it's not really lacking in torque, just the power figure is so high it skews it.

This is what Uk companies should be making. Total opposite of anything from Woking and so so so much better for it

You can drive on the road without encountering speed bumps or car park ramps

There’s the makings of a Top Gear challenge!

Let’s get...

919 Evo
Current-era F1 car
Valkerie
AMG One
McLaren Speedtail

...doing a series of tests over a couple of days. I think people might tune in to watch that, hell they could charge people admission to watch in person!

You can, but only if you intend to plan where you drive it very carefully. I want a road car that can broadly speaking go anywhere. I take my cars for continental trips quite regularly. You don't always know what the hotel car park will be like, or if you have to negotiate a town. Bit like the Top Gear trip where the Zonda (I think it was) struggled to get out of the Paris car park. OK it was done for effect, but this thing looks even more extreme and uncompromising. I'm not suggesting it isn't a great car, and that engine is a work of art. But as a road car it looks like it would be a complete pain to drive.

I don't think people buying a Valkyrie are buying it to be a car that can go anywhere or do long continental trips in.... It's made to be the fastest road car possible on track and not a long distance GT type car after all.

Exactly, its a track car....but there have been others on here who suggest it wouldn't be driveable on the road because peak power is reached at 11k rpm or whatever. I'm merely pointing out, it isn't a road car....
