AMG use to be a rare sight been done to death now.
Jealous much?

Yes, that's why I bought a Ferrari F430 Trev, the Mercedes in this article looks like a golf club car park car.

..... so you "bought a Ferrari F430" just because you are bothered what other people think about the car you drive ?

Priceless .....

Dear me, nobody is ever happy on PH anymore, are they?! Ha ha smile

Not normally a cabriolet fan, bu for me this looks great - each to their own!

I'll take on in black with the optional black pack, thanks! smile

I cannot think of a single place I could turn up in that and not feel a total wand.

To be honest, I think that with performance cars like the GT R and F430, how they look and are perceived is part and parcel of the design of the car and the experience of owning them. Unless you have no self awareness at all, you will know that other people will have a judgement about the looks of a given car that you drive, it's unavoidable. If the looks of a car don't matter at all then why even worry about how it looks, what does it matter if it has a big rear wing that is probably a functional addition anyway?

I find it a little bit disingenuous when people say that they aren't bothered at all about what other people think, people invariably want approval and respect from at least some group or other even if it's in a limited way.

There is of course a kind of inverse snobbery amongst some, and I see it here on PH at times, where they are actively opposed to driving/owning ostentatious cars as they don't want the appearance of being too flashy, or however you want to put it.

Personally, I'd love to own an expensive, ostentatious car at some point, and not only because I want to enjoy driving it in a vacuum where I am invisible.
