The VW dealership in Sheffield is right in the heart of an awful part of town, with some truely grim areas on all sides.
I suppose land was available and cheap.
Absolute bks. I suppose land was available and cheap.
They are always on main throughways near a centre.
Except for Subaru that are in areas known to sink mass awareneas and sales

Have you ever seen a mainstream car dealer in a upmarket area?
They tend to occupy pretty substantial amounts of land, so not surprising they're normally on the outskirts of towns/cities where space is actually available. Far from universally in downmarket areas, though. AudisalesmanDan said:

So you admit now you don't know how much security guards or wing mirrors cost. Which is why your not fussed.
And I'm not your pal.
I told you what wing mirrors cost, and how much we paid for security guards. Didnt realise I was commenting on a post perused by Poirot, who would then disect every bit of information I stated as 'to my knowledge' And I'm not your pal.
whats up pal, did your missus run off with a car salesman or something? shame

I sell cars pal not wing mirrors, and I don't employ security guards so I am not too fussed about your 'proof'
Typical Audi driver attitude, you must be ideal for the job. Do you communicate with your customers by grunting and waving your genitalia at each other?aaron_2000 said:
Why be a pedantic dick? Everyone calls them wing mirrors.
Because "winning" an internet conversation is only way he can keep those dark thoughts about slipping his neck into a noose suppressed for another day. At least thats what I'd guess, judging by how utterly seriously he's talking this pedantry because it'd have to be life or death. It's on a very busy main road in an average sort of area but certainly not that bad. They also sell brand new R8s at circa £150k on the same patch so I'm suprised at the lack of site security tbh. I left my R8 there for 2 days for its big service without any worries at the time.

What would a civilian security guard do against this sort of crime? Assuming it's serious organised crime I assume he'd get a blade to the throat and advised to ps off unless he'd like to see his missus sliced up and if it's opportunist yoofs then they'd press charges against him if he raised his voice or grabbed one... assault mate, reported... job lost, family now struggling and the lives of two promising footballers who were misunderstood 'ruined' so aye, come on folks... be realistic here, our snowflake society dictates we all should just settle down, do nothing and let this crap continue.
Precisely. The problem is that we're way, way too soft on the good-for-nothing ststains. When they're caught, they should be forced (at gunpoint / under threat of a severe beating if necessary) to work and pay back those they've stolen from, plus compensation and costs.Pretty shocking that they’ve got the minerals to strip a car like that at a dealers.
Sytner in Birmingham had a fair few cars nicked off the forecourt (certainly at one stage, when I was buying a car from them). The sales staff seemed pretty blasé about it.
I had thought briefly about a Golf R to replace my vRS this year but given the number that go missing I didn’t want any agro, especially with my outer half using it. The thieves seem pretty bold these days.
