Ha ha You think the Williams would oversteer, you should have tried my 306 dturbo, the meerest hint of lift off in the wet sent you over steering into the next millennium.
I think the tyres made a massive difference to my clio. Yes you could make it oversteer but always found it to be controllable.

I always fancied one of these back in the day as it was one of my dream cars as a young, but broke man. but the prices now are way too high. You can probably get a DC2 Integra for less money. As good as the Clio is, I think I'd rather have one of those tbh.

I agree with the other poster who says buy a 306 GTI-6 for a fraction of the price. The GTI-6 really is a bargain now compared with many 90s modern classics.

I ran them as company cars when I sold Peugeots back in the Middle Ages. Fond memories of "extending them throughout their operating range" across the Denbigh Moors.

You could get decent 4 wheel drifts when conditions allowed, so I can only assume that if you remember just the oversteer then you weren't trying hard enough

The 306 had had it's suspension tuned by Lad and boy it was a good steer. In the wet you had to make sure the turbo was lit and just keep your hoof down in the corners as understeer was never on tap. Great fun but wasn't a Williams.

The 306gti is a very good buy, becoming rarer.
The DC2 is similar money to the Williams. An OK condition will be about 5k to a 10k mint one

Shame the engine is a cast iron block, to heavy and should have been aluminium.

But who else was building alu blocked 4 cylinders in 1993?

Vauxhall, Ford, Peugeot, Toyota, all had similar engines (16v, 150 ish bhp) and they were all iron blocks.

Yes, I reckon if you want a GTi-6/Rallye now is the time to get one before they start really going up. Top ones still only 5-6k and a few about at 1500 quid - highly rated and GT86 performance so quick enough even now
