What a fantastic looking car those E30s were. People mock ‘80s design for being boxy but they look so uncluttered and compact.

Take a nice old car, rebuild and modify, sell for 10 times the current inflated price.....

I am lost, are there that many people with £100s of k burning a hole in their pocket that they think these are value?

I understand the love of these, which is why I have a rebuilt Esprit and M5, but would never consider spending this sort of money on one.... Bonkers.

Can’t see the point in all this. It’s a lovely car but if you’ve got tonnes of cash why not just ring a specialist and get EXACTLY what you want?

PS why is the underbonnet area white?

What is the power without a turbo? Presumably more than 238bhp.
I'd be interested to see what they're charging for it compared to a Sport Evolution

And RB was right. I drove a leggy example that had not wanted for anything. A lovely, lovely thing to drive, irrespective of the masses saying it would never be as sweet handling as a 4 pot version ...
One of the M division's finest fettled by the masters of fettling BMWs.

As an aside on the turbo-charging point, while for me an S14 should be NA, I recall talk of early plans for the E36 M3 being a turbo 4-cyl

There's one up for sale in Germany at the moment.

The only snag is it's about £130,000.......

Wouldn't have the turbo either. Keeping it N/A is more authentic and it may well be more fun with less power anyway.

On the contrary, the wheels do suit, and with good reason.







They look to be a pretty accurate reproduction of the original BBS wheels used in the DTM cars.
Though the reason they look slightly “different” is due to Redux not using centrelocks (the use of which really isn’t practical on a road car)

Mine is for sale in the classifieds and you could use the remaining £208,000 to either:

- bring it up to being a pinnacle original car
- modify it within an inch of its life or
- buy a dozen properties to rent out in Stoke-on-Trent.....
