I was fortunate enough to have the use of a 360 f1 Ferrari for 23 hours in 2003. I slept for about 4 of those hours. For the first 2 hours I thought the gearbox was absolutely sheet. Then I found the sport button and the car changed from a warm fart into a seriously exciting if a little fragile looking posh fiat on steroids. I'm assuming the engine and gearbox are the same and therefore this is reason enough for me to get very excited about having one of these.

That is a lovely lovely car.

But crikey indeed for the very very brave.

There is a cheaper one on eBay right now. The back seats are even better than the fronts.

The seller being North east Sports Salvage probably tells us something about the likely history of this one, as does the extremely light weight advert.

The one advertised in the thread starter is a cat car as well.

Yes, but at least it has a decent description rather than something that amounts to nothing more than 'Car for sale'.

Yeah some of us with hair need a car, not a bad brace this and a Ferrai F430 Spyder hairdressers car.
My hair is now the longest it has ever been and that's why I need a hat on when my roof is down.

I suppose there's a lot of wind buffering in the Mercedes SL?

I always thought these were a gorgeous looking car with a lovely interior. I popped down to Maranello in Egham to have a look and sat inside one, it felt so right...cosseting, relaxing, a lovely interior. I'm only 5' 7'' and felt it was a perfect fit.I was sold emotionally. Financially though, I was more Mazda than Maser and the dream quickly faded.

They are lovely cars, just replaced clutch, thrust bearing, pilot bearing that was due to the thrust bearing worn but the clutch was only half worn, some guys in America have got over 100k miles on a clutch in their manual cars and been lucky with the thrust bearing.

Once saw one of these parked at a marina in Lymington, and thought the juxtaposition of Maser and expensive boat was just right
A couple of years later I saw another one of these parked on the drive in a less than salubrious area of Nottingham and thought the juxtaposition of Maser and ‘faded glory’ house was just right.
And remembering the one that Mike ‘give us yer ‘and’ Brewer and Edd China bought just made me realise that the potential for me having to sell my one good kidney if it inevitably went wrong was too great to risk
Gorgeous to look at especially with the boomerang rear lights but I just don’t have deep enough pockets. Or big enough plums...

Lovely cars to look at and sit in. Drive isn't that sports originated and a little dull in auto mode. The main thing you have deal with is things always going wrong. I'd don't mind paying to look after a car but don't like getting into it every once in a while and find something isn't working.

Having said that the Mercedes CL was a much worst proposition.

Would be interesting to know if the grandsport was a more reliable option.

Almost a piece of art...
Come on, you'd have to relabel those buttons, smoke, oil, machine guns, ejector seat...
