The obvious half price alternative to a 992 is... a 991

Is the M6 really almost half a ton heavier than the Porsche?

If what's new about the 992 Convertible is that it keeps nearly all the Coupe's driving prowess, then I'd suggest a tradeoff of a 981 Boxster GTS , which are just over half the 992's list price. It's still a Porsche and still a flat-six, and still comfortable, but not only are you saving £50k, you also get a naturally-aspirated engine, a lighter weight, a better balance with the engine in the right place, and a manual gearbox, if you want. Plus it looks great, much better than the hunchback look of a 911 convertible, partly because it was designed as an open car in the first place.

This one looks nice https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/... although this has the manual and a <10k mileage for 10% more https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
ooh yes please

Hmmm
Just wondering on the base figure of circa £123k for the 911 cab
£123k? Where have I got that number from?
Well, if Porsche does as it suggests in the event of a Brexit foul-up, they suggest prices will have to go up by 20%, leading to the figure above (providing my senile old brain hasn’t had a cartoon, and it was indeed 20% they mentioned...)
I wonder how many prospective buyers will happily cough up an extra £20k for the same car or if punters will turn on their heels and walk away? Which potentially could leave Porsche (and others, let’s be fair) with dwindling sales.
Ok, some purchasers won’t be put off by that increase but but personally I wouldn’t be either able or willing to hand over another £20k
Which then plays out as above, buyers looking for alternatives in the used car market
I’m a huge 911 fan but must admit that a used Boxtser, earlier iteration 911 or similar would be so much more appealing in the instance of a price hike. Of course, there’s always the potential that the used car market will surge and prices increase if my tin-pot economy figures did come to fruition..

One of the biggest pluses of no deal Brexit - less porches and hopefully more Aston Martins, Lotuses and Mclarens taking up some market share.

Tarrifs are coming biggrin

I'm inclined to agree.
