Also this looks like a good buy
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-W124-Mercedes-E280...

No mention of wiring loom or head gasket which can affect the 6-cylinders. Also the blue interior the seller mentions appears to be grey in the pictures?!

Overall looks nice, and appears well priced?

Half wondering when I can get to Huddersfield...........

That looks great. Shame it's silver over grey though.

I had the kind of day our barges are perfect for yesterday - Chester to Lincoln and back. Unfortunately the way there was during the day, so it was a slow and dull drive - everything in comfort, stereo set just so.

Setting off back it was 10:30 or so, the perfect conditions for r129-style progress making. With the suspension in mid-firmness it was the perfect companion for a fast run back home again, it really comes into its own at 90-100 on the motorway. It even managed high-30s mpg for all that.

So, it needs sorted - but I'm completely bewildered by the number of different options for the blower motor. I've spent a couple of hours searching parts sellers sites and the number of combinations is ridiculous.

RHD Vs LHD
air con V non-air con
cabin air filter V no cabin air filter
climate control V no climate control

So fair I have found just about every combination of all of the above variations - EXCEPT the 1 I want, which is:

RH drive
with air con
with climate control
with cabin/pollen filter
BMW were equally bonkers in the 1990's with the E34.

Ventilation, with or without filter.
Ventilation with AC, with or or without filter.
Ventilation, with AC, and recirculation with filter.
Ventilation, with AC, and auto-recirculation, with filter.
Climate control with auto AC, recirculation and filter
Climate control with auto AC, auto-recirculation and filter.

Then the control panels were specific lhd or rhd... the filters were also different for lhd and rhd, and also whether you had auto re-circ or not...

Quite like those Avants myself and the four is supposed to be very impressive. I reckon you might just about get away with it here if it's not Spanish and S-line (which is the spec I'd probably choose...).
Ok i give in, been meaning to ask for ages i keep seeing references to "Spanish" mainly about BMW's which i know nothing about, now it pops up about an Audi, somebody please put me out of my misery and explain it, Google is not my friend.

Skoolboy humour (manual gearbox = manuel).

If you're not rolling on the floor laughing, you're normal. One day we will publish the Barge Thread Thesaurus. Until then we just make it up as we go along.

Disturbingly cheap for one of those, have not seen one sub 9 with 100k more on. Where I'd love to be wrong, the Email in the body of the ad whiffs of scam to me. A quick look on AT tells me it should be twice the price.

I hope I'm wrong and there's a forecourt shot soon (and not a flatbed shot), or that the autocorrect offering of "foreclosure" not forecourt is also incorrect.

Blimey, I didn't realise they were that cheap. I presume the first bill it throws at you is roughly what it cost?

I think you're right. That Daimler seems too low the more I think about it. We must be cautious.

Postcode is E1 as well, and I haven't seen many gravel driveway fronted barn conversions in Whitechapel recently scratchchin

No feedback at all for a year and suddenly has a raft* of cars and motorhomes for sale, all too cheap.

Definite scammer.

  • And by raft I mean hundreds and hundreds.
