Tint films are relatively easy to remove, but OE ones are in the glass I believe...

Never realised that. How crap, at least for some.

The standard tints in my wife's Nissan Note are hilarious. WORST GANGSTA EVAH.

I like tints on a practical level, because when most of your bicycles are worth more than your car it helps that they aren't easily seen. They do look rubbish though.

Too true, and sadly it seems to be a very common option these days. In fact, sometimes I have started to think that this is standard now on many vehicles (especially estates) as some utterly misguided taste-avoiders have defined it as a "premium" feature (the worst misappropriation of a word in recent times).

To me it looks crass, says "I'm trying too hard", and yes, makes your car look more like a van.

Continuing in that vein (albeit mercifully without the tints), I shall leave you with this. Which to be completely fair may well be a good car, with the W210 (or is it 211) underpinnings. Easily a haggle under thread (in fact, is this overpriced)?

A useful car for those rare times when arriving in an RS6 doesn't scream "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO LIKE ME!!!" quite loudly enough.
HAHA that just makes me want one, when I've never even considered one before smile

This is why I'm in two minds about removing the tints on the E39. It came with them and they do afford a lot privacy with regards to load being carried, e.g. a bike I wouldn't want pinched

I finally took the plunge and bought a Century, £1032 over thread budget though, and a fair bit more over thread budget by the time it's landed and duty paid. I am both excited and anxious in equal measure.

It's the same on all cars with this tinted rear glass though, it makes what is an otherwise spacious, potentially nice place to be almost claustrophobic, I just hope you can peel the stuff off (though I've a nasty suspicion that you can't and the only way is to replace the glass).

Here's another one with a 5.7 Hemi, so even more crass. hehe

Brilliant. Forecourt shot please sir, when possible. Is it the V12?

bowbowbow

Please please please bring it to a thread meet. I’ve been threatening to buy one for years.

Of course it's the V12.

It's absolutely THE pukka specification.

Black with grey wool interior.
Wing mirrors.
N'S front corner marker pole.
Top window frame draft excluder things.
Three sided curtains.
Antimacassars.
Writing table and flexible spot light.

I really wanted a column shift too, but had to settle for a floor change.

It's a 2007 so it has the six speed auto, dual EMV package and LED's, just missing out on the HID's.

I will keep you posted and maybe start a thread in readers cars or the Japanese forum.

I'm in Japan for six weeks over the summer, I've got quite a shopping list of accessories for it. I want a kerb mirror for the front passenger door and some of those bad ass comms aerials for the boot deck. Hoping to find some cold climate specification rear light units too, which have a proper factory rear fog light set up.

Now, which pinky do I amputate?

Sounds wonderful. I had no idea they were that cheap, I'd assumed you'd be looking at 20k+ for a decent one.

If you're anything like me you'll have the MarineTraffic app on your phone with regular updates of the car transporter's location hehe

Congrats!

In completely unrelated news... wink

The 745i is up to £510 on ebay, and i've been offered £700 cash to take it away. I'm tempted to take that offer as it's from a guy who has actually been to see the car and seems genuine.
Bite his hand off. It would only sell for twice that in full working order, surely?
I managed to get 2250 for a B6 Audi S4 Cab with an indeterminately borked engine a few years ago - the buyers bragged after loading it they'd have it back on the road in a fortnight... a DVLA check reveals it's still not MoT'd.
