Currently have my eyes on this and I am very tempted....€995!
Those early models are not much good. Not very good 5 speed Ford autobox from the Explorer, very heavy on suspension components, not great to drive, and very ropey interior. The 2002 onwards facelift cars drive better, get a nicer interior, and a 6 speed ZF gearbox.Currently have my eyes on this and I am very tempted....€995!

It looks like my eBay buyer is pulling out of the sale for my E39 530i. Annoying. I really need something off the drive now.
Anybody interested at a special thread price of £1400 before I re advertise it?
Details or link? (not sure if that's against the rules)Anybody interested at a special thread price of £1400 before I re advertise it?

Road tax in ROI is stupendously expensive for anything remotely thirsty.Northbrook said:
So, I've been in touch with a barge owner, conversations were had, a meet up was organised, money was exchanged, and I'm driving something new-to-me home.
First impressions: good lord, that's a lot of insect guts.
HAHA Your bad man Northbrooks funny but bad, I can't believe how much people were shocked by this First impressions: good lord, that's a lot of insect guts.

Early S types always seemed to have a disappointing '90s american'' feel to the interior for me.Features that would be quirky in an actual American car, but in a Jaguar are just sad.
Import Toyota Crown Athlete estate under thread budget.

A steal at that money, sadly not a good time for me. Don't suppose you fancy swapping it for a fancy road bike Olly?

That's fabulous Century newsflash.
My unicorn is proving to be quite unicorn like. It was supposed to leave Kobe this Sunday to arrive Grimsby on 15th July, but they couldn't get it on this sailing. It is now due at Grimsby on 25th July, which could be a pita as I am out of the country for six weeks from the 29th. If there are any delays it's going to have sit at the docks no doubt accruing eyewatering storage fees, or I need to make some arrangements in my absence. I do not think I will be fortunate enough to just collect it on the 25th or 26th. I'm going to speak to the port folks to see how quickly I can collect if the boat arrives on schedule, and what my options are.
Ref the post about driving it back from Japan, that was my intention and I had a plan, but the costs just kept escalating, from having to pay local taxes on the price of the car, to keeping it registered and in my name at a Japanese address, current shaken etc. It was going to cost a small fortune just to be able to drive it in Japan to get to the ferry to Korea and onto Vladivostok. Crossing the rest of the world was going to be straightforward, but obstacles in Japan, whilst not insurmountable, were too costly.
Plus, whilst it would have been a great drive, the car would've almost certainly taken a beating. I was really wanting to do it and I'm disappointed that I've let it beat me. I might drive there and back another time when I next go to visit my boy.

I had one of these in 4.0l straight six guise, and used it to ferry dogs, boats and general crap around... I have a Range Rover now for the same general duties and yet, I really miss the old Jeep, it was like a comfy armchair and no matter how hard I beat it, I couldn't kill it.Balmoral said:
ian316, that is an almost unbelievably fortuitous coincidence that you're at the docks. I may take you up on the offer of assistance once I know what my options are. Many thanks.
It is a haulage yard so there's plenty of room all week because most of us are out, so there's room and if you need a weekend pickup I could meet you Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
