I think we'd all agree that is a proper barge.Although the cassette tape on the floor of pic 7 looks intriguing ...
The description of that seems very honest though.

SLK 230, just collected. 81k mileage.
Got a bit warm in stop start traffic (not red zone warm, but about 90-95 degrees). Will need to investigate as suspect not normal!
Otherwise in good nick for a 20 year old car.
Why is it here?
Touring442 - why troll the thread with comments like that? As has been discussed ad nauseum, virtually anything goes here, so why feel a need to police the thread?

Just how bad could a £3k, "best offer above £2k" Cayenne Turbo be..?

If the looks of it float your boat why would you not at that money ?http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...
That said happy memories of driving it when it worked, great fun driving what is more or less a van with that much shove!

I just sold my mate's 'barn find' Cayenne turbo for just over £2k. In just sitting unused for two years it managed to piss all its coolant over the driveway and I doubt the dodgy gearbox would have fixed itself with time.

For 2 grand plus MOT/bodgery, you'd run it until it shat itself spectacularly and then break it to get your $$$ back. It would be a most interesting 10 days. That said happy memories of driving it when it worked, great fun driving what is more or less a van with that much shove!

Touring442, I am sure you're a decent sort, but perhaps this thread isn't for you. Have a look at some old volumes - plenty of different cars are posted that are of interest. Varying numbers of cylinders, doors, gears, seats and so on.
That's why I posted a picture of an MGB. Anything goes. Right?

Because this thread is about big old cars, not dinky convertibles?
Who dies and promoted you to internet monitor this week? A thread may start with a clearly defined theme, but over time those contributing change and move on. The thread evolves, this one feels more like a community within a forum. For that reason me, who drives a Kia and appreciates the value in older motors this is a good thing.
If you want to argue about things being just as you like it please go and find a nice one make forum.

Cumulatively that's over 14 litres of engine for a small takeaway over 10k.

All those in favour of our denying ourselves further enlightenment at the hand of touring442 and letting other threads benefit from his attentions say ‘aye’?
Nearly 19'000 posts? You need to get out more mate.
Every now and again there are non barges posted, we appreciate it, due to the fact we all like cars, CdG likes SC430s’, let’s not address that here, but they are accepted into the thread, as are other oddities, for example today my girlfriend bought a SLK280, it in itself is not a barge, but everyone can appreciate a nice 3.0 V6.
Please don’t post here if you are just going to stir things up, go and post in NP&E, accept the fact we also discuss non-barges or bugger off.
