Interesting one - older imported car? But where from? Aftermarket parking sensors front and rear. MOT history isn't exactly golden...

Is this a barge?

Tempting, either way. Grim colours, mind. But a veritable sleeper.

Just above 50% likely due to overall size, V6, unwantedness of higher tax and low mpg. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

No rear badges does = sleeper status. Especially as it looks very bog standard.
But, for the tax cost of a couple of tanks of petrol, that looks like a very well looks after motor.
I would.

Estate - tick
Auto - tick
More than 4 cyl - tick
£555 tax - tick
Sub 30mpg combined consumption - tick
Silver with part leather is a bit meh though.
I prefer cloth/velour to leather so those seats look great to me. It is a shame it's silver/black though. How very very dull, but, in its favour, that does add to its inconspicuousness. It's also a shame it's in Erith - dodgy location in my book. A bloody horrible drive from here in central Berkcestershire.
Hmm. Tempting though.

Regardless of the tax, seats, engine, colour etc.... that’s just so dishearteningly boring. Shouldn’t a barge have what Austin Powers refers to as a certain ‘I don’t know what’?
I think 3.2 petrol V6 4x4 is pretty 'je ne sais quoi' myself. Maybe we need a sub-category for sleeper barges. I think the fact it looks so boring but isn't, is what I find appealing about it. I prefer this to an ostentatious barge. I'm a massive fan of the Phaeton for example, most folks would just think "that's a bit of a funny looking big Passat", if they think anything at all. As opposed to a massive Jaaaag for example, which can look a bit 'Brexit Party PPC' frankly.Yeah, ok I’ll give you that one, and have some sympathy with, if not actually fully agreeing your opinion on ostentatious barges.
Despite being a ‘car person’, but could quite honestly see myself losing that in a car park. I’m not flashy and do not enjoy the limelight however I do believe a car should be a bit more interesting to behold than that.

Being handed that as a company car would be constructive dismissal by sensory deprivation.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

I posted it before to a reasonable reception. If it had full leather and a tow bar I'd probably have bought it given the price and rarity of the petrol > 2l Passats. Instead I'm faffing over rusty crap https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Oof. How long until it's in a white box for its photos and is up at 7995? Rubins4 said:

Surely part of the barge persona should be not caring what others think about your car. Despite being a ‘car person’, but could quite honestly see myself losing that in a car park. No, ES. Non, nein and um, no. It's a VW Passat estate with a fruity engine which probably revs rather than surges forth with manly assuredness. The only VW that comes to mind for barge status is a large capacity (inc diesel, if one insists) Phaeton. They are undervalued, under appreciated, over-engineered and suffered gargantuan depreciation. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Part of the joy I get from car ownership is enjoying it with others; some of that sharing comes from the aesthetic. It’s not the majority factor of ownership, but definitely a part.
"Enjoying it with others". Do you mean showing off to others
I know what millennials want.
