Pretty comfy too I'd imagine? Really like the interior. What's the ride / NVH like?
Yes it's far from a sports car. Ride and nvh is fairly good (though im coming from a fiat spider and a type r so not comparing it to anything properly smooth), though suspension can bottom out on a big bump. No rattles to mention which is remarkable. Engine is very very smooth - revvy yes, but in sixth on the motorway you can't hear it.

Ford badge and 4 cylinders, so expecting disappointment. However it's a 2.0 from a Focus ST170 in a Cortina estate, which I think is cool as a cucumber. £3995.

In case that doesn't float your boat I'm surprised our brethren north of the border haven't picked up this W124 Sportline at £1250 and sent it to The Man.

Low mileage mega barge, should be easy to get back up to full working order.

Could be epic.

The wording of the ad doesn't help, nor do the shouty caps.
A full proper respray would be, what? Six grand?

Assuming the rest of the car isn't too bad (Ha! Ha! Ha! - you are now officially banned from looking at MOT History, the car is at least 400 miles away, you've got your RAC membership bang up-to-date aaaaaaaaaaand you are hankering for a period of your life filled with total uncertainty mixed with pastry products), it's a bargain to be had.

What the deuce could ever go wrong? hehe

Been having a Google about; this used to belong to wee Mr Kelly, who I knew locally.

https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2015-0...

Wonder where this one is these days?

He also had a green SEC which lived in his heated garage. Again, barely driven and trailered away each year for its MOT, having done a handful of miles.

That looks a bargain. It looks like a new car inside.

1988 740iL, photos taken with a phone of the same year. Bizzare day running lights need off, but this has aged magnificently. £3500.

2006 W221 S55, lots of miles, slightly chavved, and owner appears to have skipped bail, but hey, such a lot of car etc. £5200.

Haha yes I chuckled at that the other night when I read it. Not at all off putting is it! Not sure they know what they're talking about because the S55 was the previous generation AMG this is a 5.5 litre V8 S500 in AMG drag.

Could be fabulous car for someone but I'd fear there's a story behind it and maybe not a happy ending.

What's anyone else's opinion? Too good a day so I'm going out n about.

It's on 200k as well eek

That means it has either been well maintained and looked after to make it that far, or it is on it's very last legs. It could be a bargain, or it could be a total nightmare! Great find

I wouldn't buy a car from someone that plugs the seat belt in and then sits on the belt in order to defeat the seat belt warning sound smile

Mmmm, there's something quite appealing about that; no chavtints, a nice stance to it, there could easily be an honest reason for bail skipping, and Peterborough is only 75 miles or so from here. idea for today. cool
