Well to all those going to Norfolk good luck, I've loved the last day and a half it really is the land that duel carriageways have forgot, never mind motorways and mind the roundabouts every 1.5 miles. Good luck 30 miles will take 45 minutes to an hour in this weird and wonderful county and that's in a car never mind my artic

...bit too much wide-angle photography for my taste.
I know it's a big car... but that fisheye effect makes my brain hurt. It's a sign of the times when a nicely-coloured original X5 doesn't actually look too vulgar against modern items.

Soooo much car. Do like. Won’t buy. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...
Classic terrible Lexus palette. What’s wrong with the Rogers who spec all these shockers.
And the Roger-sans who decided the colour and trim possibilities in the first place.

Better yet, buy a Spanish one and transplant a 1UZ into it. The perfect way to own a V8 without looking like it.Mr Ponkerson said:
Unfortunately the 300 isn't available in Spanish- however 1uz conversion for 2700 (plus engine) and a further 1500 all in for a Spanish conversion would.be fun (although a fair bit more than a 1uz in a Spanish 200, but look at those dials!).
Ah sorry it's a 300 not a 200. Lovely car anyway, I like the estate/hatchback thing more than the saloon.SpeckledJim said:

Yes, totally agree there... I'm all for varied colours but gold on cream leather isn't a combination to put together. I seem to remember we had a convertible Lexus in the same colours recently.Classic terrible Lexus palette. What’s wrong with the Rogers who spec all these shockers.

The Grand Fromage of Barge. No mention of price beyond 'sensible offer', but I can't imagine the market will be huge. I'm pretty sure I know who among us will like this.

Perhaps slightly more sensibly, a thread-favourite XJS, blighted by a leaper and lacking the full 12, but a reasonable description, recent work done and no sign of rust. Within a chucked spanner of budget.

Phwoar a facelift XJS... lovely. What a description too, so confidence inspiring and such a careful owner that in amongst the myriad tasks completed at a Jaaaaag specialist the owner also kindly details the following:https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1154373
Central locking / boot locking /Electric frameless windows/ New radio/ cd fitted / New floor mats fitted (Note air conditioning not operating) Walnut gear nob fitted / New wiper blades fitted / New battery recently fitted,
Comedic spelling of 'knob' aside, I cannot see a more inappropriate place to hide this information.
This combined with the 'bo selecta' number plate, makes me think that this Jag has a lot more to reveal than has been stated and would surely be a wallet drainer, particularly in search of an air con replacement.
The nob, the plate, the leaper, all in a window down cabin. I like it.

I wouldn't opt for the long wheelbase version though as I believe they have more suspension issues.

I can just picture taking that into the centre of some tiny village and bringing the whole place to a standstill

The lines that caught my eye were:
"Full underside checked and repaired for MOT`s where necessary over the years by Jaguar specialist.
Brand new Jaguar stock front cross-member fitted , and waxoyl under seal applied for added winter protection."
Having run a similar age XJ40 for 10 years when I lived up there, the corrosion underneath was what eventually made me sell it on. I left the radiator support bracket on a motorway one day as it released itself via the medium of rust, and the front subframe was well on it's way to becoming lace. The comment above about repairs for MOT gives me an image of an underside that looks like a patch-work quilt!
But I still like the car, I did have an earlier 3.6 XJS for a few years and loved it, until it blew a piston for no apparent reason. I sold it on after that as I could see the rust starting to come through the paint along the seams. It was only 5 years old at the point.
Old Jaags and Scotland winter roads are not a happy mix.
