It's worth noting that it could be specced without the AMR accent pack, so you'd have the AMR wheels and aero kit, but a more sombre colour scheme, much like the DB11 AMR. Unfortunately with the Rapide being somewhat unloved and misunderstood on PH, this thread will likely turn into the usual Aston bashing affair, which is a shame, as dynamically it's a superb car and IMO looks the business in the metal (especially the cabin with the use of the GT12 centre console etc).

Stunning thing, and a class above the mass produced German fast 4 door offerings (as an owner of an M5 and E class, I appreciate their qualities I would not lust after one like i would one of these)

Why is this not compared with Ferrari FF, Bentleys and Rolls, rather than MBs and BMWs??

One of these with the manual gearbox really would have been something unique (that perhaps no one would have bought)!!

Wonderful (aside the stupid paint scheme or decals...whatever the accents are). Although I'm going to say I don't think this is the finest send-off for that V12, surely that would be their finest sports car (ie the Vantage)....putting it in their least popular model doesn't seem the finest send off? Still, lovely all the same.

Prefer the first version with the smaller front grille, however they look so good in the flesh and that trick of the eye thing with the four doors works.
A nice swansong for the Rapide and that V12.
The Calipers yes, the Skunk line, no.

I like the standard Rapide but I think the fundamental issue with the model is that it is targeting the middle demographic who have young children but are probably seeing the bulk of their excess income being spent on school fees and mortgage repayments so there simply aren’t the same number of potential customers about as there are for Aston’s other cars.

What an utterly awesome thing - straight onto my lottery win shopping list.

It sounds absolutely phenomenal: a nice collection of many of the best bits of the VH-era Astons in my favourite body shell of all of them.

I hate the yellow AMR stripes, calipers and trim but if I could afford the car would just have them changed. The only real issue is where the third child would sit...

It’s just my opinion but the problem I see with cars like this is that they’re sports cars with 2 doors added. Same with Panamera V1.

If they made a saloon car and added their ‘design language’ (I know, wky phrase), it would still be an Aston but would have a broader appeal.

As it is they’ll sell double digits of these only.

What a visual mess, I dont see why they couldnt go with quality colours with a high quality leather interior and none of the nasty accents and stickers.

Agree with comments above whoever specs these things needs to take a long hard look at themselves.

You line this up against any of its rivals and visually it would put me off before I even started it.

Which is a shame because the basic shape and principle is lovely.

They seem usable in contrast to the vast majority of 2+2 GT cars where unless you are a particularly short driver with a short wife it’s almost impossible to make use of the rear seats in any way.

More usable and comfortable, particularly getting in and out of them than nearly all 2 door cars, Ferarri FF eg BMW M4 & M6.

Im 6ft and they are comfortable, but snug!!

Yum. Want.

V12, RWD, 5 door hatch back, and the rear seats fold down.

Its a hot hatch so its allowed strips and wild colours!

I literally have no idea why this exists, who would buy it and what they'd use it for.

And those details.. redface
I'm so happy this exists. It is wonderful to see and hear a beautiful V12 out on the roads, makes any journey that little bit more fun.

Just picture a modern plastic tray completely obscuring a V8 engine, then imagine the same plastic tray but a bit longer. wink
