I don't mind the looks.
I don't mind the 2.0 engine.
I don't mind the faux 4wd.
Judging by the comments no one else will buy one so they will be giving them away, yet I actually believe they will sell them by the bucket load.
Funny that. New BMW in 'hated by people that don't buy them' shock. I don't mind the 2.0 engine.

Same here. I have owned an M135i and currently run an M140i, but the next gen 1 series leaves me cold. Once you go AWD and 4 cylinder, there is an awful lot of competion out there, and the BMW shortcomings I can overlook due to the drivetrain will come sharply into focus.
At this stage I have no idea what to do for my next car. Maybe the M140i for a bit longer, as I can't see any like for like replacement.
Alternatively I can go for the less practical option and pick up an M2 (or M240i). More realistically, maybe a 440i Gran Coupe or M340i if it has a decent rear biased AWD.
I'd wager the new RWD 2-series will include more than coupe & convertible to cover the loss of the 140.At this stage I have no idea what to do for my next car. Maybe the M140i for a bit longer, as I can't see any like for like replacement.
