thinking about it, this came out in 2007....is there any other car on sale today that hasn't had a new model since 2007?
the recently replaced V8 Vantage would have had a longer production runits a touch call on the GT-R, on paper only the 911 turbo from its rivals has pulled away

These seem ancient to me, who's buying them new for £80K ?
Amazing to drive, great residuals and nothing comes even close to the performance in that price bracket. What are the alternatives? A basic 911, an F-type. Maybe a C63S?When you look at ownership costs over a couple of years it's still a viable car. It maybe looks worse from a distance when every comparison is vs a 911 turbo S/McLaren/R8 all at near double the price. From an enthusiasts standpoint there's still nothing to touch it in that price bracket.

I saw that white stripe and immediately thought of the Corvette Grand Sport.
Whoosh:The mixed references doesn't really work for me. Shame, the white with red could have been a good look.
10 years after debut it's still up there in the hypercar territory performance-wise, and Porsche has only caught up to it recently with its limited production 918 and latest RS models. What a legend it is. Just imagine what it would have done had Nissan come up with an all new model.

they should have brought back midnight purple!
They did a very limited edition one, five years ago:https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/news/a5069/g...

I think the purple looks good, but I'm quite a fan of how the Bayside Blue makes the car look less bulky. (As said, hopefully the R36 can actually be less bulky)
Looks magnificent in that blue. Like others said above, it would look gorgeous in the midnight purple/opal hue that was available with the past generation cars as well as the current one back in 2012 if I remember correctly. This and the Porsche 911 are two of the very few machines there have ever been that get my pulses racing every time I read about, spot on the street or get behind the wheel of.

If I was lucky enough to be able to afford a Bayside Blue 50th Anniversary car, I would not want the white paintwork/decals on the bonnet, roof and boot.
First post and the first thing that popped into my head when I looked at the pictures!Didn't they do these kind of things on Morris Marina's & Triumph TR7's?
Very outdated looking now and didn't look that good to my eyes when it was new.

Probably all of the people who couldn't afford it 11 years ago who now can.You forget these cars are absolutely iconic to those who are into them.
Would I buy a 911 @ £80k or a GT-R? Please, GT-R is the connoisseur's choice. I would forever regret buying a Porsche in comparison to a GT-R.
Do I look at used ones? Yes.

you can't buy a 911 for £80k, the cheapest new one with a few options is closer to £100kYou forget these cars are absolutely iconic to those who are into them.
