What’s the best looking 4 door saloon car ever?
Discussion
Prefacelift E23 BMW 7-series
XJ40 with the quad headlamps
E34 with Shadowline trim in dark colours (my old 540i/6 above)
Prefacelift JZX100 Toyota Chaser (extra points for pillarless windows). Mix of E36 angular features, Sacco merc style C pillar and good proportions.
Peugeot 405 (and pretty much every Pinninfarina peugeot), all of Sacco's mercs, facelift E46s in sport trim, IS200s, F10 5-series, E38s and the Volvo V90 also hit the spot.

I can't resist posting pics of the Voisin C25 Aerodyne, perhaps the most spectacular four-door ever, a car that looks like the 2CV's eccentric aristocratic uncle

While not the best looking 4 door saloons ever, I do love the look of the MK3 Cortina (my dad had a 2000E) and the mk2 Granada in 2.8i Ghia X form (my dad had a 2.0L).
I like the Sapphire and love the Sapphire RS Cosworth (had both).
The E39 and E38 BMWs are good looking cars, but not the best looking. What that is I do not know.
