My wife had one, an 06 plate facelift in white with blue/black interior and full stripes. Took it from just less than 10k miles to about 65k miles. She loved it and regrets selling it to this day. The facelift car had an improved interior. Not quite as go-kart like as her previous ZR but much more 'pointy' than most other cars. It honestly felt like it was ready to do a track day or two, the ride was that stiff. Reliability was good, only 1 broken spring to sort out and it never failed to start. A 6th gear would have helped motorway cruising. Indeed, as I understand it, the gearbox was the weak link, both in use (lack of 6th) and power handling, hence the car came with 150 bhp rather than the 170 of the Focus.

At the end of the production run Ford dealers had pre-reg cars for sale around £8.5-£9k, good look finding anything like that as a 'new' car for that money today.

First impressions are of a car that's been ragged all its life. And why not - surely that's what an 'ST' or similar is for? But don't expect one of a certain age to not be on the verge of life expired without some disproportionate expenses not far away. And this one actually looks shed-like.

I had one for ~4 years and loved it.

The chassis for me was the highlight. The whole car had a very old school approach, engine gearbox and chassis.

It was very cheap to run and I had zero issues with it, bar a loose rear light (a common problem on the Fiesta's of that era).

It was standard bar an airbox from Graham Goode Racing and boy did it liven up the engine. Dyno video here - https://youtu.be/G8Qdz9S_PTo

Perfect little track cars that are very tunable. I much preferred the chassis in the ST150 to my EP3 Civic.

FYI the ST170 Focus engine would not be an upgrade in anyway to the Duratec lump in the ST150.

Great fun cars.

I can't really think of a Ford engine of the time that would've been better in the Fiesta, the ST170 engine only had another 20bhp on paper, in reality it was likely less than 10.
