I'm finding it hard to know who to believe on quoted weights of vehicles. Manufacturers seem to take liberties with the truth and there is obviously no standardisation (dry weights, or fuel level, "standard" driver or not, etc.).

Is there anywhere that actually measures cars and keeps people honest? I see that Harry Metcalfe has recently started doing this (https://www.instagram.com/harrysgaragevids/p/Bts_kTOBxwj/) but does anyone else?

The German manufacturers usually state the kerb weight with a driver of 75kg and three-quarters of a tank of fuel. That detail will usually be quoted at the bottom of the spec/brochure page.
