exhaust
I was thinking this... It's well-documented that Subarus only have their distinctive sound due to the exhaust header pipes being different lengths so causing interference with the exhaust pulses. It's not a big stretch to think that Ford would have put some design into the exhaust system to give it a distinctive sound even if it isn't optimal for power.Alternatively, could they have fitted a speaker in the exhaust a la Audi diesel?

Example of a Scooby-doo with equal-length headers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPxeuH9h0C8
Aha! A GT350 where they have fitted equal-length long-pipe headers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DCVTLI1EXU
Note what it sounds like at 1:50, 3:40 and 4:30 - unsurprisingly it sounds more like a Ferrari than its cross-plane brethren.

Haha, I forgot about that one.Like a cross between a TIE fighter and a Spitfire!
The Granturismo is a great sounding car, I used to have an early one, but it had a Larini exhaust system, far too loud, but sounded great.
There's a convertible granturismo that must live in the village, i can always hear him leave the 60 limit when I'm sitting in the vardon, sounds fantastic
Always loved the howl from the F355 as well.

Does anyone know the spec of the engine?
cross bolted, balanced
Top hat liners
45mm trumpets and gas flowed base porting
73mm throttle body
ACT big bore induction pipes with K&N filter
ACT manifolds with precats removed
Clive Y-piece, cherry bomb
Emerald ECU
Wideband
That's about the state of it IIRC.
Another with an equal length manifold fitted. This is likely the best sounding TVR I have ever heard
