The Hellephant set up is explicitly designed for pre-76 vehicles - those with greater US car knowledge than us will know why - as previewed in the Challenger concept car of last year. Which does limit engine swap possibilities a tad, although that 1,000hp in this Dodge Coronet could be hilarious. Or terrifying. Or a bit of both.
Why on earth would you want to deface/devalue/ruin that Coronet with a modern engine when you could just drop in a proper crate REAL 426 Hemi courtesy of the same source...?[quote=filski666]ok - let's look at this sensibly for a minute - can you name ONE car that wouldn't be better with a 7.0 litre, 1000BHP HEMI V8 in it?

Trabant or Reliant Regal. Nowhere strong enough for the engine mounts. Otherwise, correct.Thought not...

My 1977 Mini Clubman...The engine is probably about the same size as the entire car, and I'm not sure the drum brakes all-round are going to cope.

Challenge will be finding a gearbox that can scope with the torque, even more so if you want a manual. In my wife’s SRT8 Challenger (only 480 hp) they use the Tremec 6 speed manual, and it’s a slow, recalcitrant device. Maybe need something special from ZF?
