Almost every Impreza I see (old and new) seems to be driven by bald/shaved head, overweight, tattood yobs - the image they portray is really bad
Pleased I never bought an STi blob eye back in 2006ish
The dumbest comment I've seen in a while. Why are you even here on PH?Pleased I never bought an STi blob eye back in 2006ish
It’s an honest portrayal of my experience, like it, lump it, I don’t really mind/care.

Have you ever thought that a) your preconceived notions of someone's character based on their appearance are insanely idiotic and b) if YOU drove a Scooby, given that you are not presumably Jason Statham with tattoos that you would therefore not be subject to these sorts of preconceived notions by the general public? It’s an honest portrayal of my experience, like it, lump it, I don’t really mind/care.

Pistonheads would be a better place without your bigoted and insulting comments. It’s an honest portrayal of my experience, like it, lump it, I don’t really mind/care.

To coin a phrase “It’s an honest portrayal of my experience, like it, lump it, I don’t really mind/care.
PH: opinions matter” - some do but yours don’t.
I don't understand how some people say the PPP STI doesn't feel 300 hp fast, if anything it feels even more than that, because of the way it delivers its power. Before the Subaru I had a mk7 Golf R, now I also have a new Audi RS3 and a BMW 1M, and the Subaru feels at least as fast as the RS3, even if it isn't. I dynoed it at 302 hp.

Agreed - the level of tw@ttery in his comment is unbelievable. I think it gets the second stupidest comment of the year prize, next to that bloke in the Lewis Hamilton thread who went on about how Hamilton is a closeted gay man, and pontificated on the apparently inherent homophobia of the black community based on his decade of 'knowledge' as a nightclub manager. To coin a phrase “It’s an honest portrayal of my experience, like it, lump it, I don’t really mind/care.

If all the Subaru STI drivers he sees are that stereotype he should a) go to Specsavers because surely his perception is wrong and b) go up and chat with these "scary" bald tattooed men - most of them are probably perfectly friendly wonderful people
We've been running a Classic Turbo Wagon for 6 months now as our family car, and it is truly great. It's stock so it's not bonkers fast, (but I have a Cerbera so everything is relative) and it is thirsty, but it really is a joy to drive - we took it all the way to the Alps and back in March and even with a 4yr old in the back the journey was fun and easy. I don't think there is anything in the same price bracket for reliability, practicality, power and fun at the moment - if you want one buy one now before they start to double in price.
I think I've only seen one or two of them on the road in London though - seems they are a rarer sight that I first thought.
Cheers
Joe

Fantastic car.
But that's a long way to go for a service. Have you tried slow boy racing near brands hatch?
I have although I'm never very good at planning ahead and he's always mega busy! I was heading up that way for something else so worked out quite well in the end to go to Scoobyworld on this occasion. But that's a long way to go for a service. Have you tried slow boy racing near brands hatch?

What a fabulous car and I can tell you're enjoying yourself a lot with it! And the tour does sound tempting :-). I'm glad there are people out there who still find a joy in driving what is one of the best driver's cars regardless of price, the GDB Impreza.
Thanks! Two more Sporting Tours to go this year, dates available here: https://www.pistonheads.com/news/general-news/2019...mlcgd21 said:

Couldn't agree more! Can't beat some old school turbo lag I've had mine (2005 Sti Widetrack) for just about a year, bought as a winter hack to get me through the winter months when the M5 was snowed-in. It's been mildly modified and dynoed at 349bhp, but only the engine with the rest standard.
I've had some pretty quick cars, several S3s, super-sonic barges, Porsches etc, but I never expected to be quite as taken by the 'scooby as I have been. Its very quick off the mark granted it runs out of puff a bit past legal speeds but on a country b-road I don't think i've had a faster car.
Oh and i'm 40 year old fund manager with a full head of hair and a svelte 10 stone - stereotypes my arse!

Is there a safe bet Impreza, all I hear about are engine woes with them?
