OP, what would happen if this morning one of your kids wanted scrambled eggs for breakfast. You’d run out of eggs in the house and needed to nip out to the shop to get some.

Whilst parking up, you negligently hit a bollard in the car park and damaged the bumper on your car.

Would you seek to recover the cost of repairing the damage from the kid who wanted eggs?
Too fking right. Cheeky buggers!

Haha - yes. I'll be pretty pissed off if I have to spunk hundreds of pounds repairing the bumper of an otherwise mint car because some toolbox decided it needed moving. shoot
Are you planning on reproducing?

Looks like a name change was ahead of that in the list of OP's priorities.

Seems OP's phoenixed into SweptVolume in the hope that everyone will forget about this thread - sadly the name change didn't break the previous posting history hehegetmecoat

It's too good to let go of.

In my view, the OP should sue his school, because he clearly fell short of his potential, and failed to find a better job which would pay more, thereby enabling him to buy a bigger house with a longer driveway.

Thank you for your detective work. If it wasn't for you I would have missed this beautiful thread.

OP

Openreach did not indirectly damage your car, your OH directly damaged it due to careless driving. What were you expecting on here?

I may have a claim, (this is a true story) Went to Macy D's to get some chicken nuggets and other crap food, drive through, didn't check the order, the toerags had only forgotten my curry sauce. They have form for this, previous order they forgot chips. Called them up, they apologized and said next time your in the Area pop in for a free Big Mac Meal! Happy days!!
So next time i was in the Area i popped in, true to their word i got a free Big Mac smile , went outside, got in my car , and a newly qualified driver pulled up next to me, messed up straightening her car and scratched my bloody bumper. I was a tad annoyed, then her husband turned up & threatened me, offered to pay cash then threatened me again. I had to pay to get my own bumper fixed in the end, my insurance still went up & it ruined my free Big Mac.
As crazy as it sounds in my head for months i blamed McDonalds for not putting in my curry sauce. I can see where the OP is coming from, he's clearly wrong , but it is bloody annoying
This reminds me of when my neighbour dented my grandad's car.

My grandad decided to be helpful and cut the neighbours lawn, or fix their lawnmower (can't remember which). Anyway, the neighbour thanked him by buying him a bottle of wine.

My grandad then stores the wine in the garage, up high in a rack.

Few weeks later, he's fetching something from the garage and the wine falls down and dents the front wing of his car! His car that he looks after meticulously, dented by a bottle of wine!

If it weren't for that bloody neighbour, his car would still be immaculate. To add insult to injury, the bottle of wine was undamaged.

Do you think he has a case?

Yes, whoops! I'd forgotten that I'd opened this from the legendary threads post!

Although it's not as bad as it would have been on some of them, only May!

I'll shut up now

Yeah, I calmed down, realised I was being a tool, changed my username and moved on with my life biggrin

I got the bumper fixed up a little later for not a lot of money and sold the car last year. Sorry if that's a bit of an anticlimax... wink

As a powerfully built company director I would have thought you would have insisted on OpenReach supplying a brand new car with a hand written apology from the CEO and free broadband for life?
