May be a bit odd but McLaren are the one supercar maker I just can't get excited about ..
To me almost every single one of their cars (apart from P1 and Senna and maybe 620 LT off the top of my head) look almost the same, with the same tuneless engine, it's like supercar by numbers.
I've no doubt they drive incredibly well, are as fast as a stabbed rat but just don't see the attraction.
Given a highly unlikely lottery win, I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be anything from Woking in my massive car garage.
Meh.
Feel exactly the same, they just hold no desirability for me and I can't really explain why.To me almost every single one of their cars (apart from P1 and Senna and maybe 620 LT off the top of my head) look almost the same, with the same tuneless engine, it's like supercar by numbers.

I don't think a mid/rear engined car can never be considered a true GT, and I think this car too misses the mark.
It may have 500L+ of luggage space, but it's an awkward layout that won't fit a medium/large sized trolley, which is what most people will use on a 1-2 week touring holiday.
If you have to buy loads of small soft bags and stuff them everywhere strategically, it kind of defeats the get-up-and-go purpose of a GT.

That must be the worst place to transport golf clubs (or anything that flies into your neck under braking or in a crash) of any car. Counting this 100% as luggage space is ridiculous. Besides, my good ol' 12C is very 'continent crossing' already, not sure where the benefit of this lies. Get a used 12C (for example mine...) and save the rest of the money, and you enjoy the wonderful hydraulic suspension of the super series.
Also, beauty might be in the eye of the beholder, but for me it's not beautiful and lacks the drama of the 720S. A bit like a 570GT with 'GT' in bold face.

Looks fantastic in the other colour combinations available, dark metallic blue with black contrasting roof in particular. Very elegant and the interior is the most special yet IMHO with copious amounts of silky smooth, buttery leather so it feels reassuringly expensive. A good proposition for those who think that a Continental GT is a little too old for them and that the interior of DB11 is not special enough for the money.
Just hope it sounds more tuneful than others in the range. Look forward to some forthcoming video reviews.

It looks good but the problem is as soon you drive it across the continent on your first long distance trip and the mileage goes over 2000 everyone will look at it as a 'high mileage' car and it will be worth 60% of its cost value within one year ! i.e. about £80k depreciation in the first year ! and I know I have a 570 GT !!!

This is based on a 720S, but they fixed the dead eyesockets. Is this an admission that the 720S front end styling was a misstep?
No.If it had 720s eyesockets it would literally be a 720s.
It's like the kings new clothes... McLaren only make one car!

"To that end, the GT is said to hit 62mph in 3.2 seconds and should be capable of 203mph"
Isn't that BMW M5 territory presumably accessed for many £'s less?
TX.
I guess it is for people who think something like the Panamera is not sporty enough and prefer the emphasis on that rather than practicality. I'm not going to knock Mclaren for a niche vehicle due to so many niches now, but doesn't irt really steal sales from their existing sport series GT? Why would you buy that now over this for a GT role?? Isn't that BMW M5 territory presumably accessed for many £'s less?

As for the GT, does anyones else see a heavy hint of 360 Ferrari in the front end?
