The OP could always buy a vegan car and we could combine two troll threads in to one.

The Tesla Vegmobile.

Don't forget to do a tour of Last of the Summer Wine Country.

According to page 22, we've got to get this dismal tale to page 33 for the OP to come back.

Can it really drag on for another 10 pages?!

Did they get there?

I'm pretty drunk and can't be arsed to read back a few pages. I also have bad wind.

Ah yes we never did get closure on this most epic of voyages. OP - did your wife and daughter opt to go via land whale in the end? Or buy the Ford Orion? Perhaps the mid-journey travel tavern option? We need resolution dammit!

Mid 80s my Mum drove from Northallerton to Neasden in a Renault 5 Rio. She said it took her 3 hours with a very loud screamy engine.

Never a chance of any carbon build up in that engine!

Google maps gives 3h 52m for that so she really was screaming the engine if she DID do this in just 3h , and since the 80s both the

M1 and A1M have been significantly improved with more road built on both and less roundabouts on the A1 bits .

I seem to remember someone found the op on another thread and asked them to update. I don’t think the op was enthusiastic...

Was it the match.com thread?

No, it was the one about assertiveness and how to say no to the opposite sex.

I think it was the 'being told I don't love you anymore' thread...

I would say over three hours in that case. She did like to drive on anything dualled at 80+ leptons - very top end. She did use the A1.

She did much later waft about in a Volvo 740 but it was an automatic - first one for her. I was in that car with her soon after she got it when she went for the clutch. I’m so glad I wear a seat belt!

Why would a mini be unsuitable for this trip? There's only two of them, how much luggage do they have?
The luggage will follow on with Jeeves.
