RE: SLR Stirling Moss under the hammer at Villa Erba

Saw one of these SLR Stirling Moss' at the Nürburgring for the F1 one year, my goodness it was the rudest sounding thing I've ever heard. Simply fantastic.

There was one on display (the Stirling McLarencar) in the main bank in Lech a few years ago (guessing 2010) and a lady is reputed to have walked in and asked if she could buy it as her husbands birthday was around the corner.

Apparently the teller behind the counter was a bit nonplussed but after a few phone calls Mercedes display car was duly sold and when I went back a couple of months later there was a car from the historic collection on display.

It was at that point I realised that there were at least two very different worlds and I was very much not in one of them!!
