Too shouty for me. Too obvious.
Also, if I’m completely honest, I wasn’t absolutely sure I could I could afford to run one. I bottled an E61 M5 for the same reason (well, I was completely certain one of those would fk me at some point)

Not a 500? Bonus points over a 63 if so!
500. 5.5 litres of almost silent V8. Air ride. Looks like an Uber.
Nobody knows what it is.
I’d say “vanishingly rare” but I’m aware of another (almost identical) on on this very forum.
All the car you realistically need.
We have a lightweight for corners.

100% perfect. I have a c63 s205. In stealth mode (no badges, small wheels, blackened exhausts, taxi spec) so not too shouty, but bone shakingly awful, and chintzy.
An S205 might actually get round a corner. The 212 has lots and lots of grip. To the point that at a driver training day I had to inflate the tyres to maximum, and it still cornered on the sidewalls while peeling the tread off the tyres.
It doesn’t really ‘handle’.

It's pretty obvious where they have gone wrong, but that's what the market wants now, or at least thinks it does.

Does anybody know where this photo was taken? Somewhere in Wales, perchance?I experimented with the idea of a fast estate, so bought a C63 wagon. Unfortunately I found myself never using the practicality of the car and instead actually kept my old C180 wagon to use as a daily.
I now run an R320 as a daily (it's a tall estate but not exactly fast) and have gone back to having toy cars.
Obligatory photo of my old C63 to keep with the thread:

Great point. The c63 does corner, so much better than big v8 mercs used to; but it is at the expense of any refinement whatsoever, which is why I started buying merc estates in the first place!

I wanted sufficient shove and something that rode properly while carrying everything I owned. Apparently 17”s will go over the brakes. It's pretty obvious where they have gone wrong, but that's what the market wants now, or at least thinks it does.
I have other solutions for corners.
