To answer this question (mine was posted near the top of the thread ) :They are 260 (auto) / 280 (manual) BHP and easily tune-able, and not very heavy. So they're pretty quick to start with.
Then there's the Bilstein suspension and proper AWD, which means they corner flat as anything and hardly notice what the weather's like.
So in test conditions, you might only label them quick... but in the real world, they're fast

Does anybody know where this photo was taken? Somewhere in Wales, perchance?
It's the Cockbridge to Tomintoul road also known as The Lecht, The Old Military Road or the boring A939 Oh and it's in Scotland not Wales
That's what I was trying to remember

I’m usually not a fan of the German ‘big three’ but that thing looks like an absolutely missile! Welshbeef said:
What were the running costs of that beast?
I could get 6MPG on a spirited drive between petrol stations. I work abroad so it was the wife's school-run car. She averaged 18MPG. Front brakes were about a grand, and it liked to consume them.ninepoint2 said:
That must be very quick
I believe, at that level of tune is was good for somewhere close to 200, not that I ever tried it. It was the overtaking that I liked the most. You could come up behind a car pottering along at 40 on an NSL, hold it in 4th until you see an opportunity, and spend very little time on the wrong side of the road. Very safe. The wife said it was too much for the Devon countryside, so I changed it out for a 1993 200Tdi Defender 90. Not quite as quick.
