I knew a PH'er would get their eventually .........
I groaned when I read it.... But agreed someone was going to say it on here
Did it not come across in the positive spirit as intended?

The problem with text as opposed to voice is humour is often misinterpreted as creepiness, or vice versa. Nobody wins!

Gone but not at all forgotten. 330i auto.

I think my favourite ever car. Best engine feel and noise of any car I've been in.

Gutted... I'll live to fight another day! In the meantime, there are some Tesla owners that should've been offended by his post, but they don't count here laugh

The one I blatted past at full chat on the old part of the Fosse way should have tried driving above 50. Why can't people drive at the speed limit? So inconsiderate.

Brilliant!

To most folks it's just another 2.0 litre diesel or thereabouts.
Try telling that to the Sleeper thread police.

My 335i LCI Le Mans Blue

That's an awesome pic and great car! Like hens teeth at the minute in that engine/colour. Is it manual?

I chopped in my e91 320d M Sport Manual for the S6. Not really any comparison as far as being fast or being a practical estate but the eXX 3 series have always been exceptionally responsive to drive. Better steering and throttle response than the S6, more involving to drive and better feedback through the touch points. Wish the S6 came in a manual sooo much. Reckon I could save loads of fuel too, it's always managing the engine when I could be freewheeling for e.g.

Here's the 320d: without the remap and the B12 kit it wouldn't have been worthy of this thread. But with the map (225hp and 400torque) it was actually pretty punchy from 2k. Drove more like a petrol turbo and liked to rev. Really miss driving it to be honest (even if the family prefer being in the S6 x100 due to comfort and space). And with Bilstein/Eiback kit and MPS4S all round it drove like a hot hatch.

The company I traded it in to sold it for the same price I bought it three years ago with +50k miles on it! Great car.

Picked me up a hot vee V8T in less shouty bodywork recently.

Did 30mpg from Nottingham to Cirencester on the non-Motorway Fosse route, great drive and dispatches anyone holding you up with ease (even teslas being driven by scared people). Had the sport diff option so effectively same as RS6 in lower tune. So quiet and refined, baby slept most the way.

Going in for a couple of niggles on warranty tomorrow (knocking front right suspension, wing mirror replacement).
Brilliant!

Remove the badging and it'd be a total sleeper.

I kind of wish they'd go all out and give the a sqare back end, V70 style for the ultimate luxury load lugger with small van proportions.

Not an estate, but spreading the love for roof bars. Loving the pics of E91s with roof bars. They just look so "right"

I went for an M2 partly because it can take roof bars as it doesn't have a carbon roof

Spurred on by the fast Volvos on this thread I went off to have a look for an early 2wd V70R manual.

Turns out they're very rare as most are Autos with AWD, gutted.
You'll be lucky! Best bet is trying to find a V70 T5 in manual, but there is only 22 left on the road!

Here is mine, V70 T5 Auto:

Awesome. Was considering one of those as a second car to the e91.

My e92 M3 made a brilliant MTB car also

Carbon bike on a carbon roof, Did many a 3 man and kit in car and 3 bikes on roof trips in it.

Now back to estates!

I thought about it with mine, and then having spent a weekend with a friend’s who has had it done to his, I prefer the understated sound to go with the sleeper estate looks without it. Each to their own and it does make a nice sound.

Yeah, I'm after that sleeper look. I'll de-badge it.

I test drove one a few weeks back, and felt like I wanted more sound. Not necessarily pops and bangs, but a bit more. I'll try it for a few weeks.
