Last weekend I took the B5 to meet up with two other V8 Touring owners from another thread
Awesome! That red one must be an espeiclaly rare combo. Not sure I have ever seen red like that on an E60 or E61. And this era of Alpina is incredibly strong!Edit - found a couple of pics, none of the interior sadly

My favourite E61 M5 colour is Indianapolis Red, as featured on this very thread by the (lucky) owner, within the last few months.

Very nice! I personally haven't seen many (if any) C63 estates in red.
I test drove a C63s estate yesterday, currently looking like the top choice on my purchase list for July when my company car goes back and I move to car allowance.

I am biased as I have the C63S coupe, the estate is truly a one car solution to every (if you exclude economy) situation. Love mine, for the first time I am not looking to buy another car.
I think that is the true test. Feel the same way about my B5, I can't see any other car making me smile as much. In the past I've always planned 'the next one'.Edited by Jules Sunley on Sunday 8th May 11:20

Economy not as bad as i thought actually. Tends to do 28-30mpg going with the flow of traffic. Average of about 24mpg per tank so far with some yobbishness included. Ride is a little harsh and gearbox can be jerky at low speed on occasion but it feels undeniably special for such a practical car which you can't say the same for many things nowadays. it gets a surprising amount of attention too, I'm a Mobile Car Valeter/Detailer so work out the back of it and in the 3 weeks I've had it I've yet to have a day where someone hasn't come up to me to chat about it.JoshT97 said:

Apart from that and some other minor things it is an epic wagon.

I only have room for one car and I have a Doberman so estate or SUV are my only two options. I am ashamed to admit I did test drive an X3 M40i yesterday, but that just reaffirmed my preference of an estate over anything else.

M340i Tourer is the perfect "do everything" car IMO, would have bought one myself but I feel they've still got a fair amount of depreciation to do so (ironically) the C63 will cost less to own overall at least in my situation from the deal I got. I am ashamed to admit I did test drive an X3 M40i yesterday, but that just reaffirmed my preference of an estate over anything else.

Very nice. Had mine on track on Friday, it’s a real do it all car. Love it.
how was it? it feels stiff enough to do OK just obviously a bit heavy for track work. Have considered doing a day in it. Also what tyres are you running? MB Dealer supplied it with mismatched tyres front--rear so in the process of putting the new continental sport contact 7's on it after watching the tyre reviews comparison test. Do think Cup 2's would be amazing once up to temp but all but useless on the road.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
