It’s a fast estate on a twisty road, so still qualifies for me. The thread title doesn’t state where and how it needs to be fast

I interpreted the response as in it wasn't an estate. As with the Taycan hatchback and Range Rovers, it probably isn't the choice of someone wanting to lug stuff around, on occassion.

A bit of both really…I’m not sure the crazy stuff like the E63S is really a fast estate either, it’s more a ludicrously fast estate, maybe it (and it’s ilk) need a new class, hyper wagon (?!) and their own thread
Fast changes with time - back in the day an RS2 and M5 Touring with 315bhp and 340bhp were fast - these days I suspect most mild turbo-diesels will outpace the M5 with some ease and keep up with the RS2; the RS2 and original M5 and would not see which way a new RS6, E63S or Alpina Touring went.
The fact is that amongst their peers, the M5 Touring and RS2 were rapid - does the mini qualify as fast amongst its peers?

This is the nub of the attraction to fast estates for me, with the caveat that an estate needs to be purpose-driven in spirit which arguably neither the Mini nor Taycan hatchback possess. The fact is that amongst their peers, the M5 Touring and RS2 were rapid - does the mini qualify as fast amongst its peers?

I love the look of the Tycan, but it (and the Clubman) are form over function for me.

In relation to the size of the fuel tank, I wonder whether a 'touring capacity' can be specified or whether they aim for a rough target of tank range to remain within the expectations of their customers.
Nope afraid not-no option for a bigger tank. Over here in UK we also don't have the options that are available in the US market like heated steering wheel, ventilated and massaging seats plus some very nice backlit tweeters that rotate out of the front door speaker. No idea why-they're options on the M5 for sure.

It's a 2018 Cooper S 2.0L 190HP so brisk rather than fast, but still passed the Auto Trader sub-8s to 60 filter and feels quick enough on the road. I'll get round to a readers cars thread eventually.

V5C says it's an estate so I'm taking that .. and it swallowed several bags of garden waste the other week which I doubt either of my previous hatchbacks (Focus, Golf) would have managed.

This 100%, and I use pretty much the same rule when it comes to super saloons. Put it this way, if an estate can keep pace with a contemporary 911, then to me it’s a fast estate. It doesn’t matter if it would get destroyed these days by the likes of an A45
Now we're talking! I've already raved about my new E63S but heres the car it replaced:
Still for sale down in Cornwall in case anyone wants a unicorn C7 RS6 and amongst the lowest miles in the UK?

This is one pampered and cared for motor and it is genuinely like new-the underside still has original stickers on them. Needs to go to a good home!

By my count, this is only the second Passat R36 estate on the thread, which I picked up a week ago.
Since mine is in invisible silver, I’m tempted to make it as ‘Q’ as possible. Removing the front and rear R36 badges would be simple, as could fitting a set of standard Passat wheels. Would it still be obvious then that it’s not a 1.6 TDI…probably!
