Nice! How is the RS6 in terms of running costs and things breaking? I idly peruse them in my quest for something 4x4...
Running costs - Outrageous in every sense

Things breaking - Yes, and every time it's a big bill! But it's kind of worth it

Not the fastest here, but certainly faster than the 2.0 TDI version of the estate that preceded it.

could be the best all rounder right now. I had a 3Dr hatch and it was amazing, and the only thing that let it down was the boot space (haldex eats into the standard golf boot size. An estate solves that, clearly. I'd have one!

Posted before but here's an old BMW Alpina to buck that trend...

Suppose it’s the product of the shift from estates to SUVs, the ones that are available and fast are mainly German. Gas guzzling usually comes with fast too.
Would be interesting to see some fast estates that aren't gas guzzlers!

Good point, for some reason I don't tend to think of hatchback derived estates as "real" estates, but there's a whole class of those, Golf R, Focus ST, Seat Leon, Octavia VRS, etc.

there are really very few of them that aren't german. I mean even a normal car these days is as quick as a hot hatch from 15 years ago, but of the pretty quick bunch, they are mostly german i think.

Silverstone camping in an XE with non-folding rear seats plus this thread might well be the last straw for the Jag. Can anybody fill me in on why there are no post 18 plate secondhand S4 Avants for sale on AT? I've looked on and off for a couple of weeks, as far as I can tell Audi still make them?

Also, I love this thread, some great cars. Inc that Volvo.

Diesel engine only in Europe from 2019 on, yes https://evo.co.uk/audi/s4
Probably addresses Otolith's call for a non-gas-guzzling fast estate, though.
