Had mine six weeks now, this is the day it arrived at the dealership and I just had to go straight there to stroke it!…

Great colour, nice interior choice as well
Absolutely, superb.

Can i ask the what each are Pippage?
Thanks. Tartufo Merino Leather and open grained oak trim. Dravit Grey exterior which looks pretty amazing as it can look flat grey in some lights, metallic in others, and shines bronze in sunlight!

We really need an Alpina Touring meet to compare and contrast - as well as share and compare wheel cleaning tips laugh

Wheel cleaning I fully recommend one of these from Detail Factory. It makes light work of my BBS LM so should make an easy job of the ALPINA wheels.

Ceramic coating your wheels is a big help too.

Agreed, these look like such a nice way to cover long distance in. I am much preferring long family trips in an estate (old non-fast E-class) than a SUV (V8 cayenne).

I love that brown E500 but 1) my better half would hate the colour and 2) the dog would hate the power hehe

Here's my current fast estate, which is my daily; a C63 PPP. Pics taken after it's last detail (so not my garage unfortunately!)

I've done a couple of driving weekends in the UK where its been amazing considering the nature of the car, even with the boot fully loaded and a child in the back, but ive not taken it abroad yet.

Recent wheel swap as the originals are prone to cracking and one of my rears cracked again. These are 18s with a bigger side wall, but also wider and more poke biggrin

Agreed.

What colour is the car? Looks black, but also appears to have a green tint to it on my phone.

Thanks. I prefer the silver wheels too. I will get the originals refurbished in their original matte black with the diamond cut rim and just leave them in the garage!

It's Magnetite black metallic (its a very dark grey in most lights) with porcelain leather.

Figured this was a good place to ask. Been looking to replace my E350 CDI for a while with something more petrol, throaty and more exciting.

Today was a tour of XFR's and I left tempted but still reserved about not having another estate... Usage is occasional long motorway commutes, weekend mtb and camping trips, and in Summer we will be doing 2000 miles to Switzerland and back, fully loaded, roof box etc etc... All of which screams 'fast estate'.

I then chanced upon a B8 S4 Avant. It's not the V8 I pine for but I'm quite taken by it so far... I just worry it might be a bit shouty and asbo to look at outside whilst not that exciting to drive (typical Audi?). S

So the point of all that... B8 S4 Avant... Any good? We must have some here on the thread...

Funny you should mention this today of all days as I've just this afternoon decided to sell my B8 S4 Avant having agreed to buy a 335i Touring in its place. I've only had the S4 for 4 months so you'd think my review would be scathing but truthfully, it seems excellent. Mine is a DSG car with a pulley and remap. It really is very quick (0-100 in low 9's) but doesn't shout too loudly about it which I quite like. It's a fairly subtle car generally and doesn't look too much different to most other A4's which again I see as a positive. They seem fairly robust cars though it seems like a car you need to buy carefully, particularly DSG ones with regard to their service history. I'm selling only because it's just one of those cars that I haven't gelled with. I think nearly 20 years of BMW ownership has indoctrinated me to how they feel and drive and I've never felt fully at home in the Audi though I couldn't really single anything particular out other than that I don't like the steering very much. Everything else seems excellent so far.

I have a B9 S4 so can't offer anything on the B8.

There is a B8 S4 thread which is very active

Not FAST but quick(ish) 530e

I've had a couple of RS4s over the years, but this thing has made me think about a M3 touring.
