We are due to fly to Orlando 18th June however I’m following the news and their problems.

Too early to worry?

Having had the misfortune of visiting Orlando once, when I was staying on the Gulf Coast side of Florida, and then, years later, being dragooned by my wife into going there again, as her brother was there, I’d be worrying about Thomas Cook staying in business, and taking me again.

Yes, too early I guess. It's only one (I think) who says the shares are now worth zilch. Others disagree.

Hopefully ‘Frank “was he a cabbie?” 7’ will just refrain visiting Florida in general

Interesting how one bad rating from some random broker who will be shorting the stock no doubt and claiming the Company is worth zilch can have such a dramatic effect. rolleyes

Without sounding as if I don’t think you know what you’re doing but to a complete layman could you explain?

As well as buying shares in a company in the hope that the value will increase (being long) you can also short a stock. Shorting is betting that the stock price will go down.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/shortselling....

If you’re short it’s in your interest to source and spread information that supports your position and encourages others to do the same with a view to reducing the share price and allowing you to profit from it.

If you’ve got Netflix watch Dirty Money
- Drug Short. Season 1, Episode 3.

Jeez, talk about touch a nerve, no, I’ll still go to Punta Gorda and Naples when I feel like it, just not Orlando, it seemed like a “travellers” reunion both times when I was there, and not for nothing Davie, but it’s “your” little mind, not “you’re” little mind.

Certainly TheDibb forum is in full panic mode (which doesn't take much, to be fair) - people are cancelling WaltDisneyWorld trips with TC and rebooking elsewhere.

There's a comment that some CC companies are refusing pass money on to TC?
