For my Birthday in June me and the GF are heading to London.
We have pretty much decided on eating spots as we have some favourites from previous trips that we will revisit and others we have heard good things about.
However I would like to do something fun, so was wondering what you would recommend? Looking for central London suggestions as I don't really want to waste half the trip travelling.
Are there any particularly good Go-Kart tracks? (The ones up here in North Scotland are garbage)
Open to any suggestions such as Crazy Golf, indoor Skydiving etc.
What would you recommend?
Done a fair bit of the Tourist attractions (Dungeon,Zoo,Tower bridge,Tower of London, Tusauds, Sky Garden, Harrods etc) on previous trips but may go see The Book of Mormon and The Bodyworks exhibition.

To keep the GF happy can anyone recommend a great, reasonably priced cocktail place with a quirky/cool interior? Not too fancy or dressy though as we will be travelling fairly light and casually dressed.
On the same note are there any great roof garden bars in the centre that you can just turn up at? I am going on the assumption that it will be scorchio next month smile

Maybe there is something new or only on next month that someone can recommend?

All info greatly appreciated.

Why would you come to central London for go karting or crazy golf? Surely there's someone its cheaper, better, cleaner and the hotels are a third of the price?

I only go into London for the things that you can't get elsewhere, the museums, gigs, shows, shopping etc, living on the outskirts we nip over to Brentwood for karting or st Albans/potters bar/Northampton for a music gig, comedian on tour etc to specifically avoid travelling into london with all its filth and crowding.

Done a lot of the big attractions/museums and a show is on the list but thought with it being London there may be some activities that are bigger and better than what I have near to me.

Milton Keynes is on the way to London, and has a good karting track https://www.daytona.co.uk/venues/milton-keynes/, they also have the indoor sky diving you mention https://www.iflyworld.co.uk/locations/milton-keyne... and is only just over half an hour away from Euston on the train.

maybe, I might be completely wrong on these specific activities but I've found the opposite in my experiences of london. Space is at such premium and business rates so high that most businesses have to work anything hard to make it pay and you pay the mostest they think they can get for the least they think they can give, wheras even on the outskirts of London you find more space to do something properly and a more relaxed and friendly attitude.

I dunno what to suggest really, what do you want, wandering around the markets while taking in a few drinks is still worth an afternoon, Camden or brick lane etc. Someone will moan theyre not like they used to be/overly commercialised etc etc but picked up a smashing leather jacket just off brick lane recently after not seeing anything I liked at other places.

For cocktails I’d go to Aqua in Argyll St, it has a roof terrace so great in the sun. Fairly casual but you can’t wear flip flops.

As suggestions above seem to be taking you East of your original Central London request I’d also recommend the cable car from near the Excel over to Greenwich. There’s a really cool, very casual tiny outdoor Tiki bar the Excel side (Royal Victoria Dock), lovely for a beer or 3 in the sun. It also has a wake boarding wire which is another fun way to spend an hour, preceded and followed by more beer of course 😊

Daytona Karting near the 02 is pretty good. I have done that a couple of times. Always good fun.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, will probably have a wander around a couple of the markets and some nice cocktails to keep the Mrs happy.
I quite fancy Wake Boarding and the walk over the O2 and Swingers crazy golf looks good.
I looked in to that boat thing on the Thames as that looked fun but it appears they are no longer operating.

If you do the o2 thing which is great, there's lots of chain restaurants etc too choose from, we go to the brazilian BBQ place and that's great too.

Have a great time!
