I'm just interested to see how everyone actually watches the GP. Do people hold onto every word of the commentary team and watch it start to finish, or do you dip in and out of it. Maybe it sends you to sleep hehe

Hard to answer your poll now that it is on Sky and I have to watch it on C4.
How I like to watch it, and still do when I can watch the whole race is different to how I am able to watch it.

Highlights on C4. Sometimes get distracted by phone/laptop. Can't afford Sky but have NowTV though don't think it's sufficiently exciting enough to justify paying to watch a race live. Might be tempted if it were £5 for whole race weekend though I'd miss the C4 team. Actually starting to quite like having highlights in the evening - means my whole Sunday is free.

Highlights, often on More4 the next day. There's no way I'm paying for Sky.

Catch up on C4 - if I'm in the mood. I've used the mini highlights facility on youtube too.

I have it on the TV/laptop and normally on my phone web surfing or occasional post on here. If the race is particularly dull I'll spend a lot of time not watching, but I'll stay within earshot - if anything mildly exciting happens I'll hear crofty have a triple orgasm about it, and return to watch the replay of whatever it was that tipped him over the edge.

Sky Race Control (red button) world feed + 2x on boards, (pit lane channel on F1 tv).

F1 tv live timing on iphone with 5 live commentary included, team radio.. pretty much synchronised...

If due to family commitments (2 kids now) or golf I’ll record the main sky broadcast, then sync the live timing app.

My home system allows multi feeds through the speakers.

I watch the start, first few laps and then struggle not to do something else until the end. Once the race is over I switch off.

Once upon a time I used to watch it all. Now I really can't be bothered with the boring procession it has become.

I miss those 3 litre V10 monster revs screamers.

Hardly ever bother to watch now.

Radio 5 with live timing then YouTube highlights - I aint giving money to Murdoch.

There's a pub near me that shows it - sometimes I go there.

And in any case, who does the pub give money too? It's still sky! And you're still paying for it wink

Oh well, that's my self-righteous superiority down the drain - the truth is: why pay for something I will hardly use and consider poor value.

I begrudgingly pay for a NowTV Day pass (watch quali highlights).

Only exception to that is if I'm away doing something else as I cannot record NowTV.

Highlights are fine for action packed races but I get quite engrossed in watching the live timings and trying to second guess situations developing or even looking at 'clean air' pit stop gaps. It sounds a bit sad typing it, but it's always a tactical sport and only sometimes an edge of the seat exciting one. I like the nerdy aspect of it. I also like the chat on here during the race.

I usually don't after spending 25 years always watching it and trying not to find out who won.

Now if I find out the winner and knew who was on pole I rarely watch, and really am very aware I am not missing anything at all really.

Bout time some other people did, then things might change

You have given opinions on every race this season. You've watched them all and then explained in detail why no one else should!!

It beggers belief that this thread is full of people saying they have no interest in such a boring sport - yet find the time to post such opinions on a forum. If you have time for the forum, of course you have time for the race, or at least the highlights. You're all watching it and being disappointed enought to post here and complain. Fair enough, but at least be honest about watching it smile

5live commentary for quali, then Now TV if I want to watch the race live; otherwise C4 highlights all the way. Paddock Pass and Ted for run-downs.

Since C4 lost it. I dip into the PH thread to see if it was worth watching and I'll catch the highlights. Otherwise I watch the start and three or so overtakes as they pop up on my instagram. I've actually found the WRC well suited to Instagram since, even in the old days when it had more TV coverage, all you ever got was clips of a minute or so.

Used to be ‘GP is on, nothing else will get in the way’, but now it is more if there are no other plans I’ll watch it Live. Usually will watch from the grid walk through to a bit of the post race chit chat. But if there is ‘life’ to get on with then I don’t mind recording, news blackout and then watch it all later on.

I pay for sky as I want the choice whether I watch every race live or not and at the very least can record the entire thing to watch later, rather than a highlights show.

Sky product could be better, but I always preferred Sky over the free option anyway.

Some races are boring, but you take it and really enjoy the ones that are ‘classics’. Any sport isn’t exciting all the time.
