I think people will be more irked that Audi have chosen to call it an S product rather than the fact it drives like most other S products...........

Dissapointingly.

Absolutely no doubt that it's a great car and it will almost certainly sell better than the previous model. In this area of the market and for what most people will buy this car for, the engine probably doesn't matter and the driving dynamics don't either, beyond it being very capable at covering ground quickly.

In fairness to Yonex, I think he got a base engined company car hand-me-down.

To the point around people sinking £60k into a diesel. People don’t. Finance companies do. If the bottom falls out of the market then people will just walk away after the PCP finishes.
And the finance company won't care because they will have priced it in

I'd be willing to bet my house on the fact that more of these will be sold than Alpina Bi-turbos smile

Indeed. £90K car meets £60K car, apart from anything else.

I thought A7(S7) is basically the sportier version of A6(S6). But it's actually slightly heavier and slower to 60... Why do people still choose them over A6 considering it's more expensive and has less interior space?

I’ll have you know it’s an ‘S-Line Ultra’ rofl

Yes. After this experience it’s put me off the brand really. Maybe an RS6 would be a nice place to be but the article highlights some of the things I most dislike in any car and ones that are present in the 2017 A4.

A/S7 is a coupe. A/S6 is saloon/estate - just like A4 vs A5.

Some people just want a coupe. I have no idea why. smile

This is what confused me was the A5 was going to be a 2 door version of the A4, then they made a 4 door A5? I DUNNY UNDERSTAND!?

The shift to diesel doesn't concern me, it's more the actual figures this produces. The MPG simply isn't good enough for a diesel or for the performance on tap. The 640d was producing similar figures to this 8 years ago but also got 50mpg.
Indeed. My D3 has averaged 40Mpg exactly over 20k miles (against a published 50-something combined mpg in the sales literature), with similar BHP/Torque figures. OK its lighter, but I would have thought the games moved on in the last 4 or 5 years.....maybe its an emissions thing.

Because coupes look better and we don't want to carry passengers so less weight smile

Just for people who want the coupe styling but have kids to carry around plus the sportbacks have a wider opening than the A4 for luggage and things. I am personally not a fan of the sportback though.

Judging by the youtube videos its got more fake noise than Donald Trump and they've stolen some of the pretend vents from the new civic.

A5 looks a little strange as a 4 door for me. 2 door A7s would look great I think.

Well, looks are obviously subjective. A7 just says "pooping dog" to me. smile

And you're mostly wrong about weight - the S7 is 65Kg heavier than the saloon. This is a 2 tonne coupe.
(Also the 4-door S5 sportback is 30Kg heavier than an S4 saloon. The 2-door (petrol) S5 is lighter than a four door S4, but only by 15Kg)

I have to say the side profile of the A7 is where it goes a little wrong.

15KG saving is fine by me smile

And you're going to notice 15KG's in a two tonne car ?

The SQ5 has been diesel for 6 years, the SQ7 for 3. It was inevitable.
