They'll struggle to use the name GT4 if they intend to sell it as a road car.
Porsche own the trade mark for road cars at GT2/3/4.
Ridiculous. They're just numbers and letters, anyone can use them.. Porsche own the trade mark for road cars at GT2/3/4.

Could they call it a GTA? I used to own an Alpine GTA except it was a Renault in the UK as Chrysler held the rights to Alpine.
I’m sure Alfa wouldn’t mind. They’d be happy somebody else with a bit of character was allowed out to play. Let them run around outside I say, variety is the spice of life
Must admit I'm in the camp that's fed up with all the nit picking and moaning when any new car is released.
Sure I appreciate looks are a subjective thing but shouldn't we rejoice at a sports car weighing in at just over a ton which isn't a stripped out track day special like a Lotus or Caterham. as the other poster said, people have been moaning for years about ever heavier cars and complexity and when a car comes out which is light and uses a small capacity engine, they still nit pick. I guess the fact that its French and not German is just too much for many on Pistonheads. If this was a 1100KG Porsche Cayman, people would be swooning all over the place.

+1 and saying how pretty it was and what great value.... Most of the negativity is all about the badge.Sure I appreciate looks are a subjective thing but shouldn't we rejoice at a sports car weighing in at just over a ton which isn't a stripped out track day special like a Lotus or Caterham. as the other poster said, people have been moaning for years about ever heavier cars and complexity and when a car comes out which is light and uses a small capacity engine, they still nit pick. Its quite comical how people post their negative views based on their own prejudices, ie no manual, not NA, its only 4 cylinders as if the those things are the definition of the driving experience for the driving gods on PH. Actually most buyers don't give a stuff the biggest sellers in this market are the 4 cylinder TT's and the 718's and overwhelmingly in pdk/stronic versions.Sure I appreciate looks are a subjective thing but shouldn't we rejoice at a sports car weighing in at just over a ton which isn't a stripped out track day special like a Lotus or Caterham. as the other poster said, people have been moaning for years about ever heavier cars and complexity and when a car comes out which is light and uses a small capacity engine, they still nit pick. The Alpine brings a new dimension to the market, it would fail if it was manual only and NA would mean a larger, probably, heavier engine. A turbo 4, with a low centre of gravity suits the dynamics of the car.
It would be great if people would express the positive attributes of the cars they like rather than trying to dismiss cars that don't fit their prejudices.
And how many express their views without driving or even seeing the cars in question.
Looks are of course subjective but the Alpine looks far better in the flesh than in photos and I have never driven a car that has got so many thumbs up from other drivers, so it must be doing something right.
