RE: Audi TT RS Sport Edition | Driven

Touchy and somewhat violent and needless ott response.
I am fully aware of the limits of not just a GT3 RS but a new GT2 RS....as I own one alongside a new GT3 btw. The GT2 RS is on another level again performance wise as I am sure you are aware.
And you are sorely missing the point.
Which is that any truly rapid focused car Porsche GT Ferrari or otherwise will blitz this Audi simply because in any relatively fast road going situation the 'focused' car will be at max say four tenths of its capabilities whereas at the same time the Audi will be at ten tenths which will mean the Audi will be compromised in areas such as handling turn in braking tyres gearbox and crucially feedback to the driver etc etc and therefore slower.
Is that so hard to understand?
On the public road you are very wrong. These limits are only relevant on track. When have you been on track?I am fully aware of the limits of not just a GT3 RS but a new GT2 RS....as I own one alongside a new GT3 btw. The GT2 RS is on another level again performance wise as I am sure you are aware.

And dibs to the brick pay per view event

Whenever there's a discussion about the TTRS many people talk about, and compare it to some very expensive machinery.
Quite an achievement for a 52k Audi.
Exactly. It’s just nonsense. The TT isn’t the last word in performance cars but a committed driver in one would be very hard to shake off on the public roads. Quite an achievement for a 52k Audi.

Exactly, how much does a Gt3-rs cost?Quite an achievement for a 52k Audi.
The fact that the Porsche even comes up in discussion against the TT-RS is testament to how good the TT is i think, yes it might not be the last word in driver involvement but its a bloody fast car by any measurement i think.

Credit where credit is due, Audi has produced a 400bhp coupe that weighs under 1500kg,has a superb engine, hits 60mph well under 4 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.7, compact size yet with 4 seats and enough boot space for the weekly shop. You also have the added bonus of a modern AWD system and a car that is very easy to drive around town or on a long road trip
Yes it is expensive starting at £52k but what else can do all of the above for less?
This isn't all outright sports car like the Evora or various Porsche models mentioned on here (including the GT3 RS) This is a coupe based on an A3, it is lighter and handles better than the RS3... This was never meant to go toe to toe against exotic machinery for sheer driver involvement and trackday experience but to offer something that sits between the fastest hot/hyper hatches like the RS3/A45 and something like the Evora/Cayman

Wow, some utter "You don't own an XYZ Porsche, so you don't know" bks being spouted here...
Not a fan of side or rear styling, but it's got a stunning engine in a light chassis & is capable of leaving the proverbial cat standing or even travelling backwards. The supercars may have it in the dry on the long sweeping smooth stuff, but how often is it dry & how much blacktop is long sweeping & smooth?
Average UK weather, road conditions & RWD will not give any credible advantage to a "supercar" & the 4wd "Golf" will arrive at destination as expected without much probability of going arse end through a hedge on route....
It's a brave new world!

This type of car is all about compelling drives at any speed to me and the A110 delivers the best feel in that sense -again; to me. Also prefer the looks over its rivals. Interior fit and finish might be sub par, but I’d still choose the little Alpine.
As far as the TT is concerned the uncluttered, driver focused cabin/controls design is a triumph to my idea making the TT perfect as a daily. But for a daily the base engine will do, no need for an RS. I wish that more Audi’s (or other brands for that matter) had exactly this type of driver focused cabin.
