I used to be a Landbuyer, this meant driving all over the Midlands looking at Housing Sites - ie fields, redundant factories etc

Pre internet and Satnav it meant driving up to the area, finding a petrol station that sold local maps, then finding where you were going, generally using post it notes stuck to the steering wheel

As soon as Tomtoms dropped to £150, I bought one - the best £150 I ever spent !

I use waze for most trips now - even if I know where I'm going, as it points out traffic and speed cameras !

Ex trucker with a crate of street maps covering the whole of the UK in the attic, I could drive city to city from Penzance to Aberdeen mapless but phone sat nav is so convenient for finding new addresses.
